Seared by the Sun
Seared by the Sun
You stab the key
into the door;
Twist;
remove from its gut.
Turning,
you unsheathe words,
converting the room
into a murder scene:
You impale
Are tear
A slice
Terrible twist
Son. withdraw
I punch the mirror
until my fingers
are a mangled mass
of blood and bone;
light catches the shards,
refracting the room in red.
I stare into the sun
wanting to become it;
longing to incinerate
the gravity of past
and all of the pain
with sunspot syllables
The sunset screams
through raindrops
sliding down a cliff of window,
a ruby splattered
glaring gore;
I fail at getting
the words to stop
and they drip and slide
down my head
into echoing ears
I look down at my shaking hands,
at the veins which share your blood
And I stare into the sun;
And I stare into the sun.

Oh my word! You are so great, honestly. I love the unlocking description. The theme is dark; I like it. The meaning is really packing quite a punch for me.
I love, love, looove that you can read
together or not; down each side or not. It is written very cleverly. I also really like the way "sunspot syllables" rolls off the tongue, and the metaphor behind it. Oh, it's just so fantastic!
is beautiful as well. There is so much good in this piece that I can't see anything wrong with it. Others might be able to, but right now, nope, nada.
Thank you very much for the praise Aqua :)
also it's really weird that we both made poems about people in the family recently ...
Yeah, for this one I just needed to vent stuff out
