Have you ever?
Have you ever stepped too close,
gone against your own advice;
involved too deep to notice,
to retreat or think twice.
Have you ever lied in bed,
too warm to use the sheets;
to stay up all night talking
my love indiscreet.
Have you rested on the water,
to float from star to star,
my heartbeat slows your pulse
each glance a playful spar.
Have you ever stepped too close,
and burnt up in the sun;
headfirst is your only instinct
and your best mistake by far.
This one is in spired by "The Rose" by Lang Leav. It's basically my own Part II of the poem. Thanks for reading.
