Learn my A2 at home?

My situation is that I feel I can learn 2 out of 3 of my A2 classes at home. I had to learn my psychology last year myself bc my teacher was shit and got fired a month before the exam. I ended up getting an A. This year I feel like I'm just wasting my time by going into college, I'm only just learning content from CGP guides/textbooks anyway. A teacher is helpful sometimes but I don't benefit from doing silly tasks or listening to useless information. It's just a better use of my time, I'm not sure how my college would react or my parents for that matter.

Just wondering if anybody was in a similar situation and decided to home school themselves or is thinking about it too?

Id recommend staying in college so they can enter you for exams and help with ucas etc. and not going to some classes with bad teaching. I was in a similar situation last year.

I think if you're going for self learning 100% go for the CGP guide for the basics and the big ass textbook for the depth.

Dont just use the CGP by itself or you're going to feel lost in exam.

I don't know about you but I only used CGP guides last year in my A2 level for chemistry and physics, and I got A in both. I felt the textbooks were a waste of time as they never got to the point of the whole problem or they took 4 pages to explain 1 thing whereas the CGP made it clear in one paragraph.

Not sure about philosophy as I never took it so maybe that's the difference between my argument and yours (or OP's)

Im in year 12 taking biology kek.

The textbook has so many fucking things that are prominent in exams that just never come up in cgp books due to the nature of biology.

It seems like its about 20% understanding 80% memory. And from what ive heard (and done GCSE psychology) at A level psychology is a lot similar to biology so yea.

Also congrats on the grades m8.

Agreed, finished AS in Chem, Biology, physics and maths and got AACA, textbooks don't get to the point and they're bloody expensive too.

I'd recommend using CGP books, the actual specification to know if you're missing stuff out and doing plenty of past papers.
