Hello from me!

Hey fitmama's!

I was invited over from r/loseit! I am the mother of 3 beautiful boys, aged 2.5 and 1 and 1. I had 3 kiddos in 18 months and it did a number on my body, and on MAY 28TH2016 I committed to myself to lose weight and be more healthy for my kids. I Started my journey at 195 and today I hit my original goal weight of 145, which is 50lbs and equates to 69 inches lost! I'd like to keep on going to my new goal of 130 lbs, so 15 more lbs to go! I am hoping you gals can help me out! Looking forward to joining you all on your journey!

Wow that's awesome! How do you find the time to do it with 3 kids?

Honestly, I had to make it a priority. i had to invest in myself, and that meant paying for my kids to go to the daycare at the gym. I couldn't commit to going in the evenings because my husband works late and after dinner and cleaning up I just don't have the motivation. So, I go in the morning and i take my whole herd. it cost a pretty penny, but my husband and I agreed that for both my mental and physical health it was necessary.

The kids can have fun in daycare at least and you get a mental break which is important! Glad you have some time to take care of yourself! SO and I are planning to make time for fitness ourselves when I recover from pregnancy.

That's awesome, and it is something you will never look back at and regret! Sure, I miss being away from my kids, but it's an hour and a half and I am a better mom because I have had time to decompress and work on me outside of them.

That's a really good way of looking at it. Your kids will also learn social skills and make friends at daycare too!

Nicely done! How tall are you? What does your diet and exercise program look like? My goal weight is also 145, and if I get to that then 130, at 5' 6". Starting weight is 185. Just had #2 two months ago and breastfeeding. It is so unbelievably hard for me to lose weight while bfing because I am so hungry all of the time. With #1 I wasn't able to drop weight until after she weaned at 14 months so it feels like this will be the same unless I can get my diet under control.

I am 5'4, so not tall at all, so 50 lbs looks pretty drastic on me people tell me. I don't see it the way other people do thought. Here you can decide for yourself lol. As for exercise I started out doing 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, and after 3 weeks and a few pounds down I started adding in weights and by 6 weeks I was in the gym about 1.5 hours a day 5 usually 6 days a week. I alternate exercises every day so legs, back/chest, arms/shoulders, core/bum. I do sets, so say should press and then immediately bicep curls rest for 1 min and then do that 3 times for as many reps as I can and I do 3-4 groups of those so 6 to 8 different movements and then 30 ish minutes of running or elliptical (I like the adaptive motion machine).

Recently I started adding in workout classes. I have gone back to work and am taking an evening class, so the 1 hour workouts pack in a punch with someone pushing me, but I am only going about 3-4 days a week now with all the extra commitments.

As for nutrition, I am doing Calories in Calories out and am usually very comfortable around 1200-1400 calories per day. I use My Fitness Pal to track everything. Mainly I eat hi nutrition whole foods, so lots of eggs, and lentils, and fresh fruit and veg, I cut out sugar and alcohol (unless it is planned) and I eat very little meat but when I do it is turkey, fish, chicken or pork. I will also add, I refused to give up my whole grain toast every morning. I just won't do it. I just fit it in to my calories/macros.

Like you I did not lose weight breastfeeding either time, I had to wait till my kiddos weaned. For me, I always struggled with milk supply and I just couldn't risk the little supply I had, especially when I nursed my twins. I say be easy on yourself, but listen to yourself too. Only you know when you are ready to get back at it, and if you aren't there yet, just take a breath and know that this is just what you or those babes need of you and that's ok. Let me know if you have any other questions :) I am happy to help!
