How do I supply wired power to something requiring 11.1v that's normally powered by LiPo battery?

electrical

I purchased this RC winch that typically would be powered with a LiPo battery but I am sort of new to electronics and am not sure what I should do to get this thing powered via regular outlet/power adapter for a non RC application. I'm sorry if this is the most basic of questions but I really don't want to blow up a $100 piece of equipment. Thanks in advance for your help!

The product says it can run from 6 to 11.1v, or a 3S LiPo. Basically, don't exceed 12.6V

A 12V wall adapter would do the job. Unfortunately there are no specs for the current, but I don't think you'll need more than 2A. So a Nintendo Wii power supply would work, for example.

awesome! Thank you! I will try that out.

FYI:
A Li* cell has a charge termination voltage of 4.2V and a full 11.1V Li* pack will deliver 12.6V to the target circuit.

A Li* cell will almost never just run at 11.1V, that is just the average point were the voltage is around during discharge with a low load, for reference:

This is really interesting, thank you. So then I am assuming that going 12v as a consistent supply would be ok?

12 volts should be fine i don't think it's that sensitive assuming it's just a d.c. motor. Pick up a 5v usb to 12 volt step up or 9v battery to 12 v or whatever suits your needs! hit me up if you still have questions

EDIT: I'm sorry i didn't read the post so clearly but it says that you needed it from a power outlet so go on ebay (or amazon) and type in 12 volt wall plug

The specs say: Voltage: 6v to 11.1v -- As a general practice, it's safer to under-volt than over-volt.

Use anything in that voltage range that can supply a few amps.

Whoa whoa whoa! Don't use 12v....well it would probably be fine, but it states on the website that it operates between 6-11.1v... I think everyone that posted just seen u say 11.1 v and just rounded to 12. Since the site provided that range, use a 9v power supply. Those are common, or if u want it to use USB, buy a boost (step up converter) for a few bucks that u plug USB into and then u can dial the output voltage to whatever works best

OP specified an 11.1V LiPo battery, which when fully charged will measure 12.6V, hence the recommendation of a 12V supply will be just fine. If that post is correct and 11.1V is the maximum allowable voltage, a 3 cell LiPo will not work either.

Thank you for this! I haven't gotten the winch yet so nothing blew up as of yet. Appreciate it!
