I play RD on ice camera angle. Haven't seen the hat but flags constantly obstruct my view on right side d-zone faceoffs

Since they only have limited time per year to work on the game I'd suggest you play the skill zone and avoid the right side of the ice. It's realistic that arenas have decor and I for one think the game would be ruined if the floating hat in the air wasn't in MY hockey game. /s

I'm not sure if it's used as an exploit, because it's not a very common thing, so I'm giving folks the benefit of the doubt. Then again, the opposing team's name/logo didn't seem to fit the Cowboy motif, so...
I think it's a side effect of arena customization probably not being thoroughly tested with secondary camera angles. One of my teammates plays with the "Ice" view and doesn't have this issue, while I have this issue on "Classic". I'd posted about this on the NHL Facebook and Twitter when I had a more minor obstruction, but this was completely unplayable. The Defensive-Zone Desperado here really fucked up the second period for us.

we just always equip the newest/coolest one. we all use overhead though so it doesn't get in our view.
I don't even get the point of these things anyways, since you never actually get to see your team skate out on to the ice. It's literally just a ceiling decoration.
