Leaf Lives

Feedback Received!

Like leaves on trees,
Sometimes I'm high,
Winds pass me by and I'm floating on air,
Energies push and pull me through,
Feelings as warm as crimson hues,
That cover my body.
I'm as resilient and strong as the bark on which I've grown.
Sometimes I'm low,
Potential turns kinetic,
I'm falling.
Gravity rips me from the heavens,
Grips me,
Pins me to a ground that's distant,
In that instant,
I crumble away,
Left to decay,
In a new world that's cold and unforgiving,
How can I expect to go on living?,
When I'm torn asunder.
Passing figures pay no mind,
Step on me as they walk by,
Forgotten in a pool of mud,
I'm buried.
But the law of conservation becomes a friend,
As I up end my circumstances,
Energy dances,
Changes form,
Seeps into dead earth and is reborn.
I am the dirt.
Time to bide my time,
Wait for seeds to sow,
Grow,
Into a tree that's even stronger,
Branches that extend even longer,
In orbit.
My journey will be complete,
When once again I am a leaf,
From new heights I better understand,
The laws of the world.
