I've been using a Xbox steering for 12 years, it's more than time for an upgrade...
I've been playing quite a bit of Dirt Rally lately and I'd love to get a better steering wheel.
Believe it or not, I've been using one of these for the past... I don't know, 12 years?
It's originally made for XBox (yes, the first one) and I'm using a really shitty homemade adapter with unstable drivers. Installing is a pain everytime I reinstall Windows, it always takes an hour to get it working, FFB isn't working, the shifter is broken, and the wheel doesn't even turn 360 degrees.
It's really that bad. But at least it's something, I guess...
So now I really need an upgrade.
I'd love to get something that'll last until I can buy a proper setup (probably Fanatec) in a year or two.
I tried looking for used G27 but they either sell to quickly or are way overpriced. So right now I'm looking at the Thrustmaster TMX or T150 Pro package priced at 350$CAD. It comes with the TMX/T150 and T3PA pedals.
Is it a good entry kit? Considering I only play on PC, would one be better than the other (TMX/T150)?
Thanks for your help!

As stop-gap temporal solution look for used Logitech DrivingForce GT. You should be able to get it under 100$CAD. Best thing about it is 900 degree rotation. So you will be able to experience proper wheel rotation. And yes pedals are not great, but I'm sure they will be better than your current setup - if you do squash ball brake mod.
For future upgrade, Thrustmaster on Fanatec wheel base with your choice of pedals, shifter and wheel rim. Thrustmaster is more affordable option of two. Of course if money is no object, then go with one of direct drive options.
And what ever you do, don't buy new Logitech G27, G29 or G920. They don't provide reasonable product upgrade paths. Only if price is greatly reduced, they are worth investing in them.
