Every internal rule was designed to benefit Hillary Clinton and hurt her possible challengers (read: Bernie Sanders), as early as April 2014. This is a complete rigging of the primary election system on part of the Hillary campaign to an even greater extent we thought possible. Read the whole email, this is a good one.

From the same email. Mook says they will have to use "allies" read - puppets, to conceal the intervention of Hillary in rigging these early states.
Jeff is going to put together action items for each state that we will review. We may need allies to help in this process but we're going to look at each state one step at a time, limiting as much as possible the perception of direct intervention by the principals.
Remember the email from an earlier summary where a state official was reporting to the Clinton campaign in 2015 that their state was already locked into voting for Hillary? Months before the primaries ever started?

This is an extremely interesting email chain. It is one of the rare chains with direct interaction between Hillary Clinton and John Podesta, her own campaign chairman. The chain begins with Hillary sending a several page note to Podesta's gmail. The note which mentions ISIS among other things begins:

John Podesta responds:
I think we are headed down this path in Iraq, but the Syria elements are Hit send too soon. Meant to say Syria elements are vexing.

Agree but there may be opportunities as the Iraqi piece improves. Also, any idea whose fighters attacked Islamist positions in Tripoli, Libya? Worth analyzing for future purposes.
John Podesta with the final response, THIS is the part that was released today, this is the new part:

This is the part where Podesta hints that the discussion is getting into questionable territory. They are talking from a gmail to an unsecured private server and even what they previously wrote could be considered sensitive information (based on "sources in the region" it says so right in the text). Now this shows that Podesta was fully aware that this type of conversation was not supposed to take place "on this channel".

In terms of goals for the 2 hour meeting: to outline the relationship, largely managed by Doug and Justin, b/w the President's non-Foundation revenue generating activities and the Foundation, with associated implications for how we position him and/or the Foundation for any gaps based upon ideas we conclude make most sense.
We can then draft something us for WJC that will be transparent to him, his family and to others so we have gotten everyone on the same page.
They are talking about the Clinton Foundation and how to resolve the situation. This is in close proximity in time to when the famous Doug Band memo came out alleging Bill Clinton greatly enriched himself through the Clinton Foundation and Teneo to the tune of $66 million dollars.
This meeting is interesting because it shows the internal circle the real power brokers in 2011 in the list of people this email is being sent to. CVC, Chelsea Clinton, who started complaining about irregularities at the Foundation is not included in this meeting. Even Bill is unaware of what will be decided here by the real decision makers.

John Podesta threatens John Harwood from NBC because Harwood wrote a piece Podesta was "put off by". Harwood wants confirmation and asks: "he is joking, right?" Podesta doesn't explain any further, but Palmieri explains it was not a joke, but a serious threat to cut off Harwood's access to the campaign (which he really needs):
No, he is not joking. He and I are both put off by your piece. The briefing was just meant to help give context to the press for how we are thinking about the race and how summer is likely to go. Never intended for it to be newsmaking event. We thought it would be helpful and you turned it into another hit piece on how our campaign interacts with the press. Seemed like a cheap shot. And odd coming from you.
Harwood goes into a panic and tries to justify his actions (daring to write a piece that was not viewed as sycophantic enough by the Hillary campaign)
I don't take cheap shots at Hillary Clinton or anybody else.
But this wasn't a shot of any kind. It was humor. I was poking fun at a campaign ritual.
He goes on to write a long explanation and justification trying to get back to their good graces. All because Podesta didn't like the tone of his article. They were intimidating and threatening even journalist from companies that can be safely considered their own lapdogs. If journalists dared to write anything they were "put off by" the Clinton campaign made it known.
