Looking for a book about chairs; specially the history and design aspects.

I have been hunting for the perfect reading chair for two years now and I am looking for a book that will help me learn the jargon with which to speak about the specific attributes of a chair.

For example, what is the difference between a club chair and a lounge chair? What attributes separate mid-century modern from Scandinavian brutalism?

Is this a troll or are you legitimately into chairs? Big fan of brutalism architecture, how would a brutalist chair look?

The crack about brutalism was a reference to the latest episode of The Good Place, but my interest in chairs is real.

"Now I Sit Me Down" by Wiltold Rybczynski should be what you are looking for. You could also keep an eye out for Judith Miller's interior design books, but they are a little pricier.

That book looks perfect. Makeshift Metropolis by the same author also looks worth reading.

Thanks for the recommendation.
