That same old mixed message

That unsubtle cringe

This immortal wreckage

Some unholy sin

 

Stop me from embracing

Refrain me from lies

Let truth be replacing

Drive me to be wise

 

That unacclaimed anger

Their sullen despair

Your cold, heartless anchor

Pure hatred, beware

 

Impeaching all others

Refuting their claim

Refusing your brothers

Assigning the blame

 

Repeal all the danger

Cause me to be free

Teach to love the stranger

Retract the young me

 

That taking for granted

Assuming the worst

The lapsing in languid

Made it all disperse

 

You change what you say and

Destroy what it means

Take assistance away

But we are a team

 

Explode all my being

If I cannot see

Another decreeing

That all I's are we

 

That unresolved struggle

To withhold the peace

Creating the trouble

But their fault, you plea

 

The relentless failures

To find what is clear

Searching for veiled answers

Although it stays near

 

Remove the entrapment

Show good will to men

Keep judgment as absent

Let me comprehend

 

That lounging in darkness

But speaking as known

A one who was markless

Marred through clueless tones

 

Refusal is greatest

When paired with desire

Contentment is shapeless

Consumed in the fire

 

Lift me ever higher

Oh let me succeed

Away from that fire

Then will I indeed
