Magenta Friday Promo - And Now My Bill Has Cycled

On 19 November, I had:

  • T-Mobile One
  • Three lines (none free)

I decided to take advantage of the Magenta Friday promotion and added two lines, and got one K10. For the second line, I just kept the SIM card because the girlfriend wants to choose her own handset at a later time.

Then, the next day, my bill cycled, and it's a total mess. Here are the monthly recurring plan charges listed:

  • Account: $110
  • Line 1: $0
  • Line 2: $15
  • Line 3: $0
  • Line 4: $20
  • Line 5: $20

So, $165 when it should be no more than $140. They also added in the EIP charge for the K10, although the promotional materials did say the bill credit may take a couple cycles.

When I called 611, the extremely unhelpful not-American rep claimed that, like the K10, the "free" lines would be bill credited back in future cycles.

Which is all well and good, except last month my bill was $220 (after everything) and this month I have to shit close to $300, and on autopay to boot, so her "generous" offer (her word) to extend time to pay is useless.

Is this correct?

If not, who do I need call to fix this crap?

Edit: Yes, I do have a recording of the call. I record all my calls, and this is why. (There's an app for that.)

I got 1 free line. Even though on mytmobile.com, the phone number entry says FREE for the 5th ine. The bill has: SC FM UTT+UNL AAL $30.00,

I will wait until next months cycle to see if a credit is given, if NOT, the line is going BYE-BYE!

T-Mobile needs to re carrier their billing systems and get them to work like a proffesional telco.

That is correct.

Two Lines Free: Via bill credits; may take 2 bill cycles; 2+ paid voice lines required. Activate all lines by 11/22/16.

Although I don't see why your bill went up 70+? They doubled the auto pay credits on your three existing lines this month it looks like, which means you got an additional $15 in auto pay credits. Each additional line is $20 + ~$5 in taxes/fees, and $7.30 for the K10. That's about $60 extra, minus the $15 in additional auto pay credits should only be like $45 more.

in part, because they put the $9 Assurant package on there (that i didn't ask for, they didn't ask permission for, and so i cancelled immediately).

What I most love is the "TX Recovery Fee," which varies in amount by line. Explanation: Texas law imposes a franchise tax on each company conducting business in Texas, including T-Mobile. The fee applies to all subscribers with a Texas Billing or PPU address for the recovery of costs associated with complying with the Texas Margin Tax.

Where I live we call that "cost of doing business, so pay your goddamned taxes."

Only cable companies and cell phone companies can get away with that shit.

My bill is a mess also so you are not alone. I decided to switch to the one plan so I could add the 2 free lines. Got crazy because my bill went up and I got double charges because I switched before my current cycle was up. I have the $25 one plus so I got charged twice for that and then another double charge for the third line. Since i wasn't on autopay before I switched I didn't get the discount on those first double charges.

I hope folks were smart enough to not get any devices on these free lines. If you didn't, you can easily cancel.
