That's cool. I approve of centralizing configuration around tools that are well controlled already.
What happens if I configure this in KCM, though, and then hit nm from somewhere else? What things would cause KCM to reset/reapply its settings? Where are they stored, for that matter?
Much curiosity!
So its what we already have, just integrated into the settings?
Yup. With minor improvements

Awesome, finally we have a network KCM! It was a bit unsettling for new users to not find network configs in systemsettings.
doesn't change much for me since no connman support - so i still consider network support broken in KDE5, moreover since powerdevil depends on network-manager its also broken for me so no KDE5 for my Laptop or Tablet.
I would wish the KDE-devs would do their homework instead of copying GNOME(Those guys are usually dont give you choices...)
Woah, thank you. The connection editors on Linux are all just terrible and this seems like a step in right direction.
A bit unrelated, but one thing which is sorely missing is that there is almost never any error info for failed connections. If you use the CLI and turn on verbose mode, do some dark magic (ironically you need an internet connection to find the right guides) and then dig around terminal vomit, sometimes you'll figure out what's gone wrong - but all the GUI tools do is just flash at you "Connection failed" in a notification and that's it. Sometimes u get a hint if you hover over the connecting spinning icons.. but that's if you catch it!
Like okay, I'm in the 3rd world and I have to do weird connection stuff (like connecting to an ESP8266 or new VPNs all the time) so maybe I'm alone with this perpetual frustration.
For instance, for a VPN, I'd like to know, is the server responding at all, are my credentials accepted, not accepted, or is it unknown? Is the connection timing out?
For a long time I had problems where about half the network routers I'd connect to wouldn't give me a DNS server IP for some reason (I only managed to fix this by reinstalling my system). No diagnostic info on DCHP, so I had no idea what was the problem (I suspect it's permissions on some files on my computer)
</rant>:)
Thanks for the hard work - this is cool stuff
