Made this after a particularly rough afternoon of gameplay.

Pack of Wolves or dogs. Harder than any Fiend.
Pack of spiders too. Man I hate fighting those things.
is it just arachnophobia? or arachnomorphaphobia?
Lol! Definately arachnomorphophobia. (That was hard to spell!) They just come at you from every which way, then skitter away too quickly. And when one "string shots" you, you get attacked by the whole mob, and you're helpless.
Kill it, kill it with igni !!!
I think you can still block attacks while caught in the web.
...and in Toussaint, even the wolves have gained so much life experience that they're level 40+. O_o
With upscaling on, a swarm of mice is the most deadly enemy in the game.
I've died more to packs of wolves 10 levels lower than me more than I've died to bosses in deathmarch and ng+ death march combined.
Same here, they're too bloody fast while big monsters can be dodged with ease, these little wankers hit you by all sides in a matter of seconds.
In case anyone doesn't know this yet, you can reduce falling damage by pressing dodge when you hit the ground, making Geralt roll
seriously, people don't seem to know this. you can jump off pretty solid heights if you roll when you hit the ground
Tfw you have done 3 full playthroughs, in which the vast majority of deaths were fall damage, and never realized this.
You have my gratitude for when I eventually do another playthrough.
Thanks for the info. Can't count how many times I think I could easily make a jump and then die. Other games' fall damage have spoiled me.
In fairness, it was patched in later. If they're looking at all those online guides that popped up in May 2015 & were never updated, there'd be no mention.
Most of my deaths are when I'm running around in the middle of nowhere and some trees block the view of some 3 foot cliff that I run off and die

The 'No Fall Damage' mod is a sound investment to any player on PC.
Pretty far in my death march play through.
number of deaths from bosses -- 0
number of deaths from human sword fighters -- 2
number of deaths from monsters -- 0
number of deaths from wild dogs and wolves -- at least 40 so far by my count.
the fall damage is rather high in the game, so much so that i do not risk jumping down, i prefer to move around until i spot an incline.
as for dying by detonating a barrel: as i was whirling, i apparently hit the barrel, apparently sword hits on wood are spark inducing, it was offscreen when i hit it (i was using the auto target against one opponent) it exploded as soon as it was onscreen. this was the only time i ever died by barrel, i have avoided fighting near them on my successive playthroughs
Green should be falling from more than 2 feet - ladder, cliff, whatever.
Nah, green is thinking you may just be able to slide down the cliff instead of going all the way around
Getting knocked 50 feet back by a giant = 1/2 HP
Falling 4 or so feet = YOU ARE DEAD
90% fighting elemental in cave and can't jump over small rock and there is no way around
How are people falling that much? I fell probably 3 times through the whole game. And if it's not very high like a mountain you can just roll when landing to avoid any damage.
You're aware there're mods that nullify or halve falling damage, right?
You're aware that not everyone plays on PC?
"I can make this jump" - me, not able to make that jump
