I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to want to get the game to open. It says its running for a like 3 seconds then is just off again. Anyone else experience this and figure out how to fix it?

I was at a con over the weekend and was playing Last Orders at the Yawning Portal at T4, I had already played this epic at a previous event at T2 and wanted to play it at T4 at this event. During the 3 hour event, the four out of the five other players at the table spent two of the three hours arguing with the DM complaining that a lot of the stuff happening was "not fair" especially >!the bowling part where your character can be retired for a year if you lose to Halaster. 5/6 of us lost to Halaster which is completely fair stakes for a T4 adventure!< they even went as far as to call over the con organizers DURING the game to complain and say they were never coming to the con again if

So I DM a lot for Adventurer's League and have Lots of DM rewards that I may as well spend on something loony for when I get to play. I recently saw a video about a character named "Abserd" who was a combination of many different character class levels.

Inspired by this, I currently have a character on paper who is Rogue (1), Bard (2), Barbarian (1), Cleric, Life (1), Druid (1), Fighter (1), Paladin (2), Ranger (2), Sorcerer, Wild Magic (1), Warlock, Great Old One (2), and Wizard 1. For a total of level 15.

Making this character was hilariously fun, but I need a name. What would you call this hot mess of a character, with Abserd being taken. (Note I didn't take a level in Monk on purpose,

So a DDAL organizational group that I am a part of was organizing intro games at TCC this past weekend, and I wanted to share some stories about new players who haven't heard much about D&D or organized play. Wall of text incoming...

It's no secret to anyone who's seen my name around or clicks on my post history that I am not the biggest fan of the season 8 rules, but am following them in protest hoping for what I feel are positive changes come season 9.

So this weekend our group ran over 20 tables of drop in play and reached out to over 100 new players most of which had never heard of D&D, we supplied pre-generated characters as well as had a table where we would help people creat

Like the title says, this season players in my circles are feeling pressured to make the "right" choices when they buy their items because TCP is limited and you can't go back on your choice outside of trades which not everyone in the community participates in.

Is anyone else experiencing this "pressure" or do you find the freedom of choice relieving? There are a couple of players in my group who have 40+ combined TCP of T1 and T2 because they can't decide on which items they should get and I'm wondering if that is the case out in the wilds.

So I just DM'd my 5th four hour session of season 8 with the same group that started at level 1 for the new season. The party went from 0 magic items to 7 (I tend to run 7 player table parties at the store I play at) Just in time for the start of T2 and it was kind of interesting how they seemingly went from having nothing to each having something reasonably "powerful" and I had to adjust mid module the difficulty to account for the surge of items they had just acquired.

In previous seasons, they would have had 4 prescribed magic items between them and would likely still be in tier 1 as opposed to 7 magic items of their choice that perfectly fits their character and in tier two.

Incoming Wall of text.

So I just started a group in a slighter larger town in an area surrounded by small towns and a couple weeks ago the core players of the group hit T2 for the first time. so they were a group of 5 level 5 characters and I put them in an APL 6 AL mod, Mayhem in the Earthspur mines. Two of them got turned to stone by the BBEG in the encounter. Now as brand new level 5's under the new system, they no longer get faction charity. If they spend zero gold through the first 4 levels, they would each have been sitting at 300 gold (Please correct me if I'm wrong). They would also have zero treasure points to purchase scrolls. So now unless the party spends 3/5 of all of the money

http://engl393-dnd5th.wikia.com/wiki/Cleric is the resource I noticed the change at and I couldn't find if there was errata, nor do I have my players handbook handy as I am away on a work placement. I strongly remember being annoyed that when you get thunder damage on your attacks at level 8 you did not get to push targets and if this change is legit I'll be happy.

My friend asked a thought provoking question yesterday and I wanted to see what different answers people come up with.

If you had to play a board game for money (think poker) what would it be?

His answer was Splendor, mine was Lords of Waterdeep. Do you pick a game you tend to be very good at? Or One that you are good enough at but enjoy immensely?

We have basically avoided heavy miniature games based on them costing more, but after playing Blood Rage a few times she wants one to paint the miniatures. Our reasoning for not just getting Blood Rage is that we have a few friends that own it and would rather diversify. We have no games that have miniatures so all suggestions are welcome.

Edit: Thanks everyone for your Input, its much appreciated, will now go over suggestions and make a choice!
