Virus Shield for Employees

When installing Virus Shield from the Tech Bench flash drive, it asks for an OMS work order number. Are associates required to create an OMS work order for their complimentary one year of McAfee Virus Shield? I couldn't find anything on the hub.

Why on Earth would you want to be a virus shield member?

Go to google install malwarebytes its the exact program that we use on scans. Also install Hitman Pro one of the best virus removers around.

And pay for the Prem version. Everyone grabs the 2 week free version and expects it to work forever.

Well you can get a program that makes it so you can infinite installs on trials. Just have to uninstall/reinstall.

Yes, you can and I have access to them but dont use them. They costs are low enough to be bothered with license hacking programs. Also a rule of thumb with the Scene Group Members is to not cheat on the OS, Backup Programs, and Virus programs.

There was a link on the Reliable IT portal, it said associates. In there you could download 1 year virus shield OR PC Tune Up. I found out that this has since been removed when I was looking to prove you wrong.

Not from the tool disk. Go to the web site and there is a link for employee download. It asks a few questions first. It will give you an install key for McAfee, not Virus Shield protection.

McAfee is terrible. I would not recommend it. Malwarebytes premium, chrome+Ublock_Origin is all that most computer literate people need. I would say third party AV solutions increase your attack surface at this point. Run Spybot S&D and adw cleaner every once in a while and your clean. For customers the value lies in the instore removal service. As a tech you better off without McAfee.
