S2 Travis Konecny Review

Other

Konecny goes for around 3-5k on XB1. If you have read my S2 Mitch Marner review this guy is pretty similar.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////

Synergies active: X, SB

///////////////////////////////////////////////////

1rst Line: S2 Konecny, Mike Richards, S1 Patches

///////////////////////////////////////////////////

Skating - 9.5/10

Much like Marner he is very quick and agile. He changes direction on a dime. His small size and weight mixed with his skating attributes make him hard to catch and quick to loose pucks.

Hands - 8.5/10

He has very good hands. Dekes are in the good to very good range. He controls the puck well and can make passes to people who are open. I don't know that he is going to thread it through lots of traffic but no obvious flaws here.

Shooting - 8.0/10

Very good shot. I would say it is a tick below Marner and definitely not in the same league with the elites. Still he scored on some cross body shots and even a slapper here and there. I would call his shooting reliable.

Checking - 3/10

He is small so he can't really hit. His speed lets him bump a guy off the puck maybe but he is basically just going to annoy people more than anything.

Defense - 7.0/10

He seems pretty adequate defensively. I play him on the first PK with Richards and his speed definitely helps him get to people to harass them. His poke check is fine but he was able to create breaks with his speed. In 5v5 I didn't notice him out of position much either.

Awareness - 8.5/10

His offensive awareness quite good. He seemed to be mostly in position for one timers and other passes. Again a tick below Marner. His defensive awareness seems fairly average. As mentioned above I didn't notice him (in a good way) in the D zone.

He definitely has around a point a game. This was competitive seasons on one of my alts.

He is a bargain at 5k or less. He is an ideal piece to add to a budget X based team. If you like small speedy players this guy is for you.

More expensive options: S1 Marner (6-7k), S2 Marner (30k), Sullivan (100k?)

Cheaper options: don't really see any
