HC Horcoff Review

Games played were in Div. 2 and Div. 1 against equally skilled opponents with semi-stacked squads (Richards high without base players).

He played on my 3rd line on LW with ASG Kesler and MS Parise. 2nd PK Unit as a Centre.

Skating: 9/10 It’s like he is taking performance enhancing drugs! Joke aside, I would rather like to split this rating in two; 9.5 on acceleration and 8.5 on speed. He has an above average body (6’1’’ and 210lbs) which makes him a good enough weight and height but not too heavy either. With RF active, I hope your opponent is ready. It sometimes looked like a glitch because of how fast he was going for a check. So fast and aggressive, it is a thing of beauty. Love the speed on this guy. He has good balance and agility that compliment his play really well.

Defense: 9/10 It’s hard to find a good PK guy you can trust when you are on a budget. He is that guy. Since he can be had for 50k on a Wednesday at 5:30 AM, you have no reason to pass on this guy. Got mine for 35k by the way. Always on the right spot (93 def. awar.), with a base 95 stick check and 88 faceoff. This guy is a gem. He has good enough reach but what makes him so good is his checking (base 93 body check) and base 91 aggressiveness which makes him relentless at forecheck (see what I did there?).

Passing and Hands: 9/10 Great passing ability and great hands. 90 in all category means he’s good at everything with a side of great depending on your synergies. Really crisp passes in tough spots with a good deking ability. Really satisfied.

Shooting: 8.5/10 I was going back and forth with 8 and 9 so I put in between. His shot is really good it’s not Rob Blake hard but it’s hard enough, it’s not ASG Mueller precise but it’s precise enough. Can’t complain for a 3rd line who manages to get .875 points per game with a guy who has poor accuracy (ASG Kesler my review here) and a guy who does nothing (MS Parise my review here).

Senses: 9/10 Well positioned at both ends of the ice. Great on the PK and in general (+18 in 16 games). He was the guy I wanted to control whenever he was on the ice.

Conclusion: Decided to do this a review on this guy because he became one of my favorite players on my team. Just an overall jack-of-all-trades kind of guy who does everything well. Can play center or wing but since he is faster I guess most people will play him at wing. I haven’t used him on his off-hand but he played really well as a LW. Big surprise for a guy below 40k, I really recommend him. He also has synergies made for his role so I really think this is a complete card.
