Dystopia Buff Idea

So seeing as this is space Hitler simulator and we got a Utopia expansion coming up, I would like to make a suggestion so that I can enact my UTOPIA or I guess Dystopia ?? :D

Purging buff

Realistically the state would seize the financial assets of all those condemned to death. Therefore I think a way to make genocide more useful would be to give a +2 mineral +2 energy per pop being purged. Additionally it should give a research speed buff due to the unrestricted and plentiful test subjects of those condemned. the buff should be +2% social research and +1% physics and engineering the buff should go directly to research speed. All purge buffs stack per pop being purged. The idea is to make purging more useful economically instead if just a tool to remove shitty pops seeing as genocide carry's a huge diplomatic penalty.

Racial purity edict

This would be a very costly edict to run in terms of influence but it gives a large buff. The Idea is you can select a version of a pop u own and say this is the perfect pop, when I say version I mean genetic traits + ethos + species. This pop will now reproduce at every tile you can produce a pop of that type due to habitability. It would produce that pop at a much slower rate but you can populate Ur empire solely with the ideal citizen both ethically and gentically. The edict would give double purge buff( so +4 min, +4 eng, +4% socio speed, +2%, eng and phys speed) when purging pop who are not the ideal pop. It would give a positive happiness mod to all pops who are ideal and negative happiness mod to all pops who are not. Additionally you can make an ideal pop per sector. seeing as I tend to sector ppl ive conquered who live in other bio habitability, and then enslave the entire race, you can now build the ideal slave race per sector :D

Influence Changes

Influence is basically a representation of the consolidated power of your government. For this reason I feel totalitarian gov types should get more influence in some way, either as a larger influence cap, more per month or an edict + suppression cost reduction. It makes sense that democracy type govs would have less influence because the power is more centered in the ppl so it'd be harder to suppress things but also enact policies and edicts.

Cleansing

So With the purge buff it'd have a lot more value to cede a planet then purge all it's pops ur self if you inteded to cleanse, seeing as youd get a good research and eco boost. I think a way to make cleansing a bit more viable would be to attach a flat sum of mineral, energy and research points to the planet you cleansed based on the amount of pops it had. over all it'd probably equate to less than if you took it and purged it yourself, but the lump sum would come faster and with less effort to balance things out.

Slavery Changes

So unregulated slavery and regulated slavery is pretty similar right now, and if you can afford the the influence of suppressing a faction there really inst a reason to regulate slavery. I feel like unregulated slavery is probably more akin to the forced factory labor suffered during the holocaust in which the guards literally worked you to death. And as such in Stellaris unregulated slavery should mean there is a small chance per month the enslaved pop is killed but they produce significantly more while unregulated. I think the current slavery buff is +20% food and minerals so unregulated should be somewhere around +25% food and minerals at the cost you can kill the pop. Should you regulate slavery the buff would drop to plus 15% ish ? but you'd have no chance of working your slaves to death.

a version of these things and more is already being implemented in utopia. just give me a moment to get a list:

December 8 - Ethics Rework December 15 - Unity and Traditions January 12 - Ascension Perks January 19 - Species Rights

That's really cool I'm excited to see how it plays out, really all I want is more an actual reason to purge a pops n such other than for the sake of being a tyrannical sadist lol

There is. It gets rid of unhappy people who would otherwise make annoying factions you have to cater to. Granted, it doesn't work nearly as well with a large amount of these people.

You are right though, there could be more to the idea of purges, or at least species rights in general. I'm all for systematic genocide as a way to get rid of aliens you don't like the amount of tentacles of but since PDX seems to be rather bent on turning this whole thing into a "who can be the most terrible ruler" simulator, I think there should be a setting where you aren't just purging pops but also conducting medical and genetic experiments, maybe intentionally mutating pops in order to turn them into some kind of plague carrier that you can drop on enemy planets in order to spread a space zombie mutation plague...

Using pops that are being purged for food is nice (and there really isn't much else organics are useful for) but you could take sentient synthetics, tear out their brains and re purpose the bodies as slaves and soldiers (droids essentially) but doing "society research" on people you don't need to survive the experiments has to have some kind of value.

Jesus Chist, man.

Are you deliberately trying to catch up to the CK2 forums in the "say things that sound insane and psychotic without context" competition?

No, I didn't know such a competition existed but I suppose it makes sense for discussions about these games.

I just like lots and lots and lots of options, so we can roleplay... Still find it a bit double-standardish to put all this stuff in the game and go insane about somebody making a white people only mod.

If I were the type of person who gets offended about everything, I'd start complaining about the lack of female versions for every species that isn't human.

Yeah that's why I said it should come with a research speed buff especially for society cuz unlimited and unregulated testing lol. I do like the idea of mutating pops so we can drop bio weapons. Would it count as a army ?
