A Christian's Lament

A mishandled child  
	with pains a mother can’t soothe   
	bent over her bed, beaten by he  
	whom we should love  
	he  
	who it were a human  	
	we should imprison  	
	too mighty to disrespect  
	too mighty to love  
	too mighty to face his sins  

	Smite me.
