Moon
Does the moon ever look down on earth with jealousy,
and wish to feel it's azure embrace,
long for the warmth of that which is so distant,
and hidden behind the weeping clouds,
Does it ever wish to shut its eyes forever,
and like a speck of dust fade into the night sky,
so obscured by the looming fog that none miss it's absence.
Yet it remains,
frigid and lifeless,
wandering in star speckled onyx halls,
until it opens the horizons mountainous gate,
and retreats before one so bright and splendid.
how transcendent is the sun,
her ruby hair aflame,
how does the moon not look upon her, and not hate itself?
would it too hide in dark places,
in the dwellings of dead things,
whose words are mud and ash,
and pillows so very hard and slumbrous.
So lonesome is that celestial orb,
who meekly wanders the vacuous firmament,
would that it could weep, it's sobs might quench the sun.
