Mega Garchomp Competition

All

#INTRODUCTION

Hello Everyone! Back at it this week after a (small) break from comps. M-Garchomp is up this time, so let’s get those rewards! Please let me know if you have any critiques, corrections, etc!

Please feel free to add your scores to the Leaderboard.

#THE MEGA GARCHOMP COMPETITION

Weaknesses and Resistances

In Shuffle M-Garchomp is a ground type, meaning that it is weak to grass, ice, and water, and is resistant to electric, poison, and rock.

Mega Effects

Placing high enough in this competition awards a Garchompite!

The Garchompite allows M-Garchomp to erase all Pokemon in a slash pattern from the top left of the board to the bottom right. Players that already have a Garchompite will receive a Level Up instead.

Competition Info

This competition is a limited move format, and you will have 16 moves to get the highest score. Take your time and make the best moves you can! For newer players, it is worth making at least one run at the competition even for the lower tiers, and do not be scared to grind up some coins for a full item run!

Items

Since the is a repeat competition, a Mega Start is available in addition to a Disruption Delay and Attack Power Up. For higher placement in the competition, it is recommended to attempt at least one full item run. Please attempt an itemless run before attempting with full items! Disruption Delay will prevent the disruptions during the first half of the run, just in time for the beneficial disruptions in the latter half. Attack Power Up doubles your damage/score, and Mega Start allows mega evolution to begin the round.

#STARTING BOARD AND DISRUPTIONS note: This is just what I have noticed from the runs I've attempted.

The Starting Board

Starting board:

The starting board contains 16 rocks in total, 4 in each of the four corners. There is also a Winking Manaphy and Chesnaught in C6 and D6 respectively. There are 8 Chesnaught icons initially in the skyfall, 2 in each of columns A, C, D, and F. Chesnaught is not necessarily needed after that.

POST DD (Turn 8)

turn 8:

The initial disruption post DD contains a lot of rocks. The two rocks in B1 and E1 are covered by barriers. Row 6 contains the following, in order: Blastoise, Blastoise, rock, Gyarados, Swampert, Swampert.

After receiving a combo of 3(?) or more, 4 Manaphy icons are disrupted in the top middle of the board.

The board may be reset to fill the left and right sides of the board like this.

#POTENTIAL MEGAS AND SUPPORT

The recommended megas are subject to change depending on what players find success with.

*Note: Avoid supports with Vitality Drain. Competitions have 0 HP, so activating their abilities would give you 0 damage as a result. There are much better options available.

TEAMS AND STRATEGIES

Here are potential teams for the competition! Simply choose one category from each column and you are set! Pokemon that should be mandatory is Winking Manaphy. Chesnaught is not mandatory, but I would recommend it if you are not using a tapping mega. If you have any comments or recommendations, please let me know!

Please attempt an itemless test run before attempting with full items! Do not blame me if you attempt a full item run with poor results!
