My ex is dating again (only about a month after we broke up). We're still pretty close (or trying to be). We talked about her relationship troubles last night with this new guy and it's a double edged sword for me.
I want her to be happy, and I want to be there for my friend, but it's tough hearing about how she's dating so soon.

I know she'd do the same for me. We're just not really compatible dating wise so it's not the biggest of things. Socializing in general is tough for me, so I knew it was gonna take me way longer than her to move on.

My girlfriend. We've been going out for 2 weeks, she's my first (I'm 20), and we spent all weekend together. It was lovely but now she's at school and I'm probably not able to see her today and I'm sad

I just actually stumbled upon this subreddit and really like the laid back atmosphere.
Otherwise, weird day. I'm pretty self-managed at my job and today just don't feel like doing anything for some reason.

My office's computer is busted, so I'm using my own to work.
It's great. My machine may be old, but it was built to be good.
I can EVEN open both excel and pdf docs at the same time without the computer freezing. Best work day possible.

I don't really have anything to do right now.
But even my stand by is better. usually my old man asks for some information and it takes like 03 minutes to build the document. (It's a long ass time when you are in the phone).
I will finally "receive" a new work computer, that's great. I couldn't stand the old piece of shit anymore.

Oh, yeah.
Half hours messing around cables to be sure what was fucked up.
Also gave me an excuse to clean my (room's) desk. But that stuff was dirty.
In the end, the best thing this old computer of work did to me is that it was SO bad that I couldn't listen music on youtube, so I started using Spotfy.

Thinking of my dad. He was just laid off and I'm worried about him. He's an old-fashioned man in some ways, who identifies strongly with work.

I have no excuse, I don't work Mondays now, but had to do some boring errands. Now I'm being lazy again haha.
I hope so too, I know he has a pension and gets severance so that's helpful, but he's pretty young, not even 50 yet.

I met a girl, and for the first time in seven years, I have butterflies in my stomach. I am planing a picnic with her tomorrow. I also fixed my bike for tomorrow, since it needed some oil for the chain, it runs smoothly now, but the front brake is a bit squeaky.

I can't allow her to think less of me because the brakes are squeaky. I will have to fix it. The brakes are grabbing the rim of the wheel straight on instead of at an angle. They have to be angled a little inwards so they grab tighter the more you squeeze, else they are giving a big squeal. It is an embarrassing sound for a Dane.

Thank you so much! I need all the luck I can get haha. I've been trying to work hard, but ughhh, stuff at home always gets in the way. It's a struggle but I hope it all pays off so I can make my family proud in the end.

Glad I ran into this thread because I could use a good vent. I'm sure nobody will read this but it'll feel good to say.
I'm just feeling very frustrated and disappointed with a situation with a woman I had sincere feelings for. A few months ago I met her through mutual friends and we immediately clicked, so much so that I found myself buzzing about it for several days afterwards. This is highly unusual for me. I haven't really crushed on someone like that before, and I'm 25.
Well long story short, we wound up going on a date and it was fantastic, we had a great time and it ended very successfully, she was very responsive and seemed excited to see me again. But then some weirdness with her ex popped up and we didn't connect again until a month later, when she randomly reached out after I had pretty much given up. We go out again and have another great time, she spends the night at my place and we wind up spending more than 13 hours together. I'm over the moon, I think this is back on track and I can't wait to see her again.
Well she very suddenly disappears after that. Very little contact. Eventually I get a big text explaining she's not looking for anything serious and just wanted to date casually - I'm cool with that, and agree to taking things chill. So we make plans again, she cancels, and now she's not replying to my texts at all.
It's possible that I'm simply not accustomed to having real feelings for someone but this has been one emotionally exhausting rollercoaster and the crushing disappointment with how pathetically this magical thing just kind of petered out of existence is really difficult. I'm not sure what happened. I don't know if I did something wrong, or if something weird is happening on her end, but it's kind of surprising to feel so dismissed after all of the enthusiasm she showed me when we went out.
It's not life ending or anything, just something that's very much on my mind. I thought she could have been the one. Guess not!

Hahah thanks, I'm in a much better place with it than I was before, but it's just a very frustrating and disheartening turn of events. It wouldn't even be that big of a deal if I hadn't fallen so hard. Feelings, who needs 'em!

Thanks mate, but I feel that this is something a... Professional helper (I don't know how guys who help with depression are called, lol) couldn't change. It's the lack of friends that is slowly destroying me. I have no one to talk to and it would have been easier if I had a hobby to keep my mind busy. The only thing I do is playing games, but recently I've lost my fun even in this. My only hope is one year apart from me - then I'll change school and maybe I'll meet some new people. And by the way if I would seek for help that would worry my mother too much, she's doing her best in everything and she has a lot to worry about so that would burden (Google translate, sorry if wrong) her.

Have you tried maybe joining a youth group? i did that (i'm in a similar situtation, didn't have any friends) but since i joined one i met so many nice people! even though i'm still to anxious to talk to them
anyways if you need to talk to someone i can be here for you dude, cause i know how it feels to be alone.
and about your mother, idk how will she react, but i suppose she would rather see you get help instead of being sad alone :(! you aren't a burden to her i'm sure.

I don't think there are many youth groups around me - maybe I live in a boring place, maybe I'm searching for them in a wrong way. If I find anything that will interest me then I'll join it for sure, for now I have to wait for an opportunity, I guess. I really appreciate your help, and about the talking - it's nice to chat here, but you know... I think there must be more connections to have something to talk about, and since I'm a boring person there isn't much, I guess. About my mother - she's aware that I'm pretty lonely, but she doesn't have much to do as well, I think. I'm not saying that she doesn't care, but she can't really help there, she can't make me friends, lol. Anyways, big thanks for the interest, without any social interactions I think I would go insane...

I am going to travel alone from the end of may to the end of july and am going to see many different cities and meeting many different people, because Im mostly going to stay at homes from people I never saw before, but also staying at friends houses as well. I am so excited already!
I graduated two weeks ago and that's my gift from myself :D

So I met a girl like 2 weeks ago, it's kind of a funny story but not gonna go too much in a detail as it isn't important for this story. So it was a weekend event, meaning that we had to part away on Sunday. It happened 2 weeks ago. On Monday I stalked the hell out of her, she added me and now we're chatting. The chats are fun, but they're kind of inconsistent. Through screenshots I noticed that she's chatting with one of my friends aswell. I'm going to meet her in a week or two. I'm really lookng forward to it, but I'm not sure if I should push it further... she seems to be somewhat interested in me, but I'm not sure if it's just friendly way or lovey-dovey way :D One guy told me that she was looking at me a lot back then, but we haven't met since and she seemed really friendly with my friend too. So now I'm knida wondering what to do, but I think I'm going to tell her how I feel. I had this kind of feeling only once before and I feel a lot of courage in me :)

Hey man you'll be fine. First time I went on a date the chick dumped me two weeks later. Felt awful and rushed, but a couple weeks later I was back to normal.
Thanks for the reassurance. The breakup ended a 3 year relationship but I'm surprisingly doing ok, much better than I thought I would although I had my emotional moments.
Strangely, I find comfort in knowing that this is nearly (if not a complete) universal feeling everyone goes through.
