I've been trying to get into PLAYERUNKNOWN's BATTLEGROUNDS, and that game is REEEEEALLLLYYYYY spotty for me. I've played five or six matches, and only ONCE was the game playable. FPS is all over the place (from 10fps to 60+), with zero consistency. I've only played one match where the audio wasn't COMPLETELY blown out. It is the most early access thing I have ever played.
Since PUBG was such a shaky/frustrating experience, I decided to put on my space helmet and dive into Kerbal Space Program. I was feeling something sandbox-y, and re-watching Project B.E.A.S.T. has been in the back of my mind, so this seemed like a solid choice. Fuck, this game is fun. I'm doing everything in sandbox mode, so far, and having a blast. In 6-7 hours between the last two days, I have lost zero brave souls. Does anyone know if career mode is also a good time?
Both podcasts, UPF, and the Spoilercast: Fate of the Furious.
A Jeff-less UPF was better than I'd expected. I don't love Rorie (I am genuinely sorry about that), but he really carried things well! His segments ran a little long for my tastes, but both were fun, and great games/ideas for the UPF format. Also, that Rick & Morty game really makes me want to get a Vive. Like, right now.
I'm currently halfway through the Spoilercast, and it's so, so good.
I'm sure more Kerbal, at least! I still need to finish Event[0], too. I also keep eyeballing Stardew Valley, thinking I may need to jump back in and make a new farm, pick a new lady to woo, and possibly even side with Joja this time...
I have exclusively played Kerbal in Career mode. It is very good, but can be incredibly frustrating if you know what you need to do, but need like 5 more science points to unlock the next tech.
My experiences with PUBG are totally contrary to yours. I've only had 1 game with shotty frame drops and haven't had any issues at all with audio (although I turned off voice chat before even playing my first game because I can't stand voice chat in games).
