For new players of Final Fantasy XI - A Linkshell is like a Guild or a Clan

Do to overwhelming popularity of the Linkshell we now have a second Linkshell open for users to join us in. This will make it so if the primary Reddit Linkshell is full, you still can have a way to chat with people in the community.
As the time gets later and people start logging off, people can transition into one Linkshell yet again. Because we are able to equip two Linkshell at the same time, this will help our population problem a bit in keeping people connected the best we can.
Whenever a new member joins the Reddit Linkshell they will be handed 2 Linkpearls. One to Reddit and one to RedditGold. When Reddit is filled to the max capacity then they are to equip RedditGold.
No member is to equip both Linkpearls at the same time, except for Pearlsacks/Officers.
If you are planning an event and want to ask both shells, that is 100% allowed though. Just ask they respond to you via /tell or something of the sort. The rule about both pearls is exclusively in long-term mindset.

I know some people are finding us through Twitch streams, other communities, as well as from word of mouth. Please understand this Linkshell is based out of Reddit and that won't be changing. We use Reddit for announcements, events, recruiting, and everything else related to Final Fantasy XI/the Linkshell.

About us:
Week after week there are posts about people wanting to return to the game, but don't have anyone to play with, or just want to find a Linkshell/Group of people to socialize with.
Today will be the last day that you have to feel like you are alone in Final Fantasy XI!
As the Subreddit server is Asura, having a Linkshell named Reddit on the server seemed very fitting.
The problem with Final Fantasy XI is that the game can be a lot to handle at times. You have to unlock many aspects of the game and there isn't a direct tutorial to teach you how to do everything. Where should I level up? How can I unlock this job? How do I make gil? There is just so much to learn and nobody directly wants to take on the job of teaching everyone. Reddit posts are extremely popular for learning the game, but it still isn't a way we are all directly connected in game.
The idea of the Linkshell Reddit is to keep our community connected in Final Fantasy XI. People play Final Fantasy XI for many reasons, but one thing we all have in common is that we use FFXI as an escape from the real world. It doesn't matter if you play to experience the story, to be the best you can possibly be, to make friends, or just to explore every inch of Vana'diel - We are all part of the same community.
Rules and Standards:
Since the launch of this Linkshell, we have since become the most popular Linkshell in the world. We have well over 1750 members in total and continue to grow everyday. The Reddit Linkshell does not want people to feel pressured about joining a Linkshell of this size, as we try to help as many people as possible. When people join they will receive a warm welcome and while it is impossible to be in two places at once, we all do our best to help its members.
In order to keep the Linkshell running as smooth as possible, the Linkshell has some rules that all members are expected to agree to and follow if you plan on joining us. They are as follows:

Absolutely no racism, sexism, religious talk, or political talk in the Linkshell. Do not use "rape", "gay", "fag", or "faggot" as an insult towards something you don't like. Just try and be mature in your approach of being social. While you are free to swear/curse, simply try your best to speak in a way that won't offend others. We don't judge anyone based on life decisions, race, or sex, but simply by your actions in FFXI and how you treat others.

Absolutely no botting or cheating in this Linkshell. We do not mind if players choose to use Windower or UI (User interface) based plugins. We also do not mind if you use Gearswap. Any sort of game breaking plugins though that bypass intended mechanics of FFXI are not allowed. (Example: JA0 - Removed all delay after any animation in the game) Spellcast scripts for magic skill-ups and having no delay on casting is also against the rules. Anything that goes to the extent of game breaking and clearly gives an unfair advantage will not be tolerated in the Linkshell and will result in a kick without warning.

Stealing our members to join your own Linkshell warrants an instant kick from the Reddit Linkshell. Making your own Linkshell and trying to get them to leave the Reddit Linkshell to join yours is against our rules and will not stand for it. The Linkshell attempting to do this will be blacklisted from the Reddit Linkshell, as well as its subreddit. Lastly we will not accept any members of said Linkshell afterwards.

No "One-Uping". Do not be someone who always has to be better than everyone else. If someone says "I just got level 50! Awesome!" don't respond with "I have multiple level 99s. So what?" This is a casual/social Linkshell, so do not expect anything from anyone. You can play the game however you like and be as "elitist" as you want, but that attitude is NOT allowed in the Linkshell chat, nor will it ever be. I truly believe in the "no man/woman left behind" method of this Linkshell and I will not stand for anyones beliefs or methods of playing being attacked. Example: "That job fucking sucks and you shouldn't play it" is not allowed. "I don't like that job personally because of this and that" is fine. People don't have to agree, but don't be rude about it. Let people play what and how they want.

No FFXI vs FFXIV talk / Don't insult other games (Or their communities) Games are great in their own ways and it is silly to say "this game sucks" or "that game is better". All games can co-exist as they appeal to different audiences. It is completely fine to discuss other games, but the second the conversation turns into something like "Fuck that game" or anything of the sort, that conversation will be stopped. People should be able to discuss topics like this without blatantly insulting a game in some way.
