[Breeds] Wife brought home a dog. Have no clue what the breed is. Any one able to help?

Wife brought home a dog. Have no clue what the breed is. I've tried to take photos of different angles and get the best colors I could possibly get. I think he looks like he has some Pit in him but his snout is a bit narrower and longer than I would expect.

We were told he is roughly 3 months old and is 33 pounds. Color is black and orange brindle.

He is currently running around like a maniac with my 6 year old boxer/rottweiler. Jumping like a goat.

Looks like my neighbor's whippet boxer mix. However, my neighbor's dog has a shorter snout, so, maybe sight-hound pitbull mix?

based on some google results, i can see the similarity.

possibly, google results appear to have a bit wider head than snout from what i've seen but some resemblance there too.

definitely has pit in him.

That's weird since neither pitbulls nor sight hounds have a wider head than snout.

Maybe I'm thinking of actual APBT, and the "pitbull" half in the google results dogs is actually American Bully, or something.

Type in "APBT sight hound misx" and you'll get a lot of narrow faces. Edit: I just typed in pitbul sight hound mix, and also got narrow dogs with narrow faces. I have no idea why your results and my results are different.

looks very similar, even has the stripe up the middle of the head. Pit Bull Terrier/Whippet Mix

my initial thought was a pit/boxer mix. maybe some bull terrier in there?

My wife thought bull terrier also cause his snout but his head to snout has a fair amount of curve.

I like the Great Dane mix suggestion. Your puppy is twice the size mine was at 3mo, and mine is not a small dog.

Where did your wife get the dog from? What was she told?

We were told a couple orphans down the street from her dad got him but then they were told they couldnt have him so they put him outside. Her dad is not one to leave a pet on the streets.

The head on view has the shape of a great Dane a profile view hints at a bull terrier. I would also guess some boxer or pit based on coloring alone.

Looks like some sort or pit/boxer mix. You could do one of those dna test that Amazon sells. I did one on my dog. Found out I had a cocker spaniel Rottweiler mix after the original owner told my she was a cocker/Yorkie mix

I'd say no Boxer, he would have more of a short, upturned snout. I can almost see Rough/Smooth Collie in the face, maybe he has a touch of that. He is pretty mixed anyway.
