Hey guys, I've been thinking about ways to create something similar to Netflix's recommendations within Plex. I think it would be pretty cool to log in and not only see the On Deck based on what's new but a handful of small ~50 movie libraries that may give a list of new and old movie recommendations based on viewing habits.

This would need to be based on the User's viewing habits and the media within the library that they have access to. Ideally, completely local to the server if at all possible. I think its completely possible to not rely on metadata outside of what Plex provides. No need for a 3rd party service that could go out of business.

I have a tool that I use to create "Virtual L

Is there a way to automatically check media files for issues?

I've ripped a couple old DVDs a few months back and went to watch one a bit ago and found that there was an encoding issue about 45 mins into the movie and suddenly it skipped to about an hour in skipping about 15 mins of the movie.

I'd like to be able to have a background script/application that sits and scans my library's media and checks the files and reports back if it finds errors in the file. Such as a movie with a broken or incomplete video or audio stream.

I did some googling and found this link https://superuser.com/a/100290 which mentions using ffmpeg -v error -i file.avi -f null - 2>error.log

I was wondering i

Wife brought home a dog. Have no clue what the breed is. I've tried to take photos of different angles and get the best colors I could possibly get. I think he looks like he has some Pit in him but his snout is a bit narrower and longer than I would expect.

We were told he is roughly 3 months old and is 33 pounds. Color is black and orange brindle.

He is currently running around like a maniac with my 6 year old boxer/rottweiler. Jumping like a goat.

Is there currently any way to access the Onhub's speed test data? Via ifttt or API or any other means besides the app?

I'd like to use my speed test data for my home automation and tracking.

I recently purchased a Google OnHub for my home. After spending an hour and a half spelling out my needs to Cincinnati Bell support trying to set it up. All I got was how to turn my WiFi radios on my Cincinnati Bell provided ZyXEL VSG1432.

After asking to speak with someone else I was directed to Cincinnati Bell's "Advanced" technical support who wants $75 to tell me which settings need to be changed to put my router into bridge mode and allow the OnHub to do its thing.

My question to you r/cincinnati, is this:

I can't be the only person in Cincinnati to buy a Google OnHub who also has service with Cincinnati Bell FiOptics. I also can't be the only person with the ZyXEL VSG1432 router wh

I have a Pelican 1300 that fits my mflb, pa2, orbiter, batteries and the rest of my gear. The Orbiter sits upright when the case is laid flat. So I was wondering if anyone has found any stoppers that would fit the Orbiter allowing me to keep the water in it and in turn allow me to keep the honey oil.

Right now after it gets used the water gets dumped down the drain, the globe gets dried and then put back in the case and locked.

I have to lock it up after use because I have a kid in the house and he doesn't need to have access. So this rules out leaving the water in it and putting it on a shelf or something.

Any ideas, experience, suggestions?
