How much overheating is normal for the XZ?

Just got an overheating warning after 3-5 minutes of shooting photos. I wasn't shooting video or doing anything unusual, just some normal shots on superior auto mode. Got this phone just a few days ago, I'm not sure if this is normal or I should try to do an exchange or something.

It depends on general usage/temperature of the phone. On my X if I was playing a game then switch to camera the warning would come pretty quickly, but when the phone is cool ( after being on standby for example ) I can shoot for quite some time before it gets hot.

Doesn't sound normal. I have my camera setting set to 20MP auto. Been using it heavily last weekend on a road trip and it was perfectly fine. I've only heard about the overheating warning when trying to shoot 4K.

I guess I'll have to do some more tests or something, thanks. Hopefully it's just the case or the sun or something.

What case are you using by any chance? There's no that many good cases for the XZ. I used to use a cheap plastic clear case until my RhinoShield arrived. Only thing I can think of is if you're using one of those aluminum bumper cases, it may be drawing more power to maintain cell signal?

It's a leather flip case sort of thing (this one ) so I guess maybe it's more insulating than some cases. It's also black and I was in the sun so maybe that's the problem.
