Haven't heard anything about this but should be pretty legit considering the source is Nvidia. I'm guessing it's Acer's response to the Asus PG35VQ: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-g-sync-hdr-35-inch-curved-monitor
Today, at Computex 2017, we unveiled two new 35” curved G-SYNC HDR monitors from Acer and ASUS. Featuring a 21:9 aspect ratio, 3440x1440 resolution, and 1800R curvature, these monitors provide wrap-around immersion for gameplay, videos and day-to-day desktop work.
The monitors' new 35” LCD panel was designed in concert with AU Optronics, delivering the ultimate in HDR and gaming capabilities in a curved 21:9 wide-aspect ratio. Making full use of the bandwidth of the latest DisplayPort 1.4 specification, the WQHD panel refreshes at up to 200Hz for tear-free, ultra-smooth, responsive gaming. And, its HDR capabilities break new ground with a 512 zone full direct array backlight that sports a peak brightness of 1000 nits, for stunning and intense highlights, and exceptional contrast. In addition, DCI-P3 color gamut support is enhanced with a Quantum Dot Enhancement Film (QDEF) for outstanding color expression.

It's time to begin saving
Ive got the money already... the problem will be how to rationalize spending $2k on a PC monitor.
Here's one: keyboard, mouse, monitor, desk, chair - those are comfort items you're spending hours daily at. Having them high enough quality with proper configuration will leave you less tired and healthier in the long run. It's the same kind of help as how having a really high quality bed/mattress is contributing to you sleeping better and feeling a lot better during the day.
Besides... how often do you change monitors? This is investment for at least few years. I will most probably run mine until it dies of natural causes x)
If it's anywhere near the 2k mark I'm not even considering upgrading. It's likely going to be a sizeable jump over the current x34/PG34 monitors, but lets be real, selling off an old x34/PG34 will get, at best, around 700. That'd be another 1300 ontop to upgrade.
As nice as the 200hz is, if you want it for competitive gaming, you shouldn't really be going down the 21:9 route in the first place and we don't have the sheer graphics horsepower to drive AAA's anywhere near that yet. For me there's no way to justify the upgrade if it's over the 1500 mark.
Its more about the HDR for me.
I agree. $1500 max. I can get a nice LG OLED for that price, which offers a lot more utility.
Meh.. I did it when the X34 came out.. you'll be fine :)
I just got my x34A a month ago. Well I couldnt hold out for an entire year just for a new model. Hopefully I can get a good price for this when I try to sell it when the time comes.
Lol same. If they sort out the quality control issues I think I could be convinced to buy
Why is refresh rate always such an afterthought? In just about any monitor descriptions, it's either not listed or in some more detailed section.
I hope there is an Asus version of the anticipated Acer X34P.
I believe this is replacing the x34p. There is also the z35p out now on amazon. Asus is releasing the exact same thing as the x35 here but of course with different stand.
Then again, maybe there will be both the x34p and the x35, who knows.
The x34p is the upcoming replacement for the x34a. The Asus equivalent to the x34a is the pg348q. I was really trying to say that I hope there is an Asus equivalent to the x34p with the styling of the new pg35vq(Asus equivalent to x35).
I believe the x34a/x34p are IPS, and the z35p/x35 are VA.
Have you found any info on what type of panel it is? 200hz ips or va seems too good. I hope this isn't a TN panel
VA.
Now can someone make a card that can do that resolution and 200 FPS

Q4 Release. Looks like a good christmas gift to myself.
God I wish they release a Freesync version (with just an "Acer" logo to replace that awful Predator logo).
I have that logo and I never see it
Same
By Q4, I bet a freesync version will be announced/released with these.
This will be my next monitor. Seems like the X34P will be replaced by this.
There is still a panel 34" IPS Q3 production that may be in the x34p
Hopefully cheap enough to be compelling over this. Otherwise there's no reason to consider it.
Are these IPS panels? I don't think I've even seen 200 Hz non ultrawide IPS panels... color me skeptical, but intrigued.

Unfortunately, these are VA panels.
With any luck, they'll have better response times than the z35
Where did you get this information, TFT central is saying those are IPS pannel. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/38.htm#asus_rog_swift_pg35vq
It uses the AU optronics panel - http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-g-sync-hdr-35-inch-curved-monitor
Seems legit
Good. Now it's time for the X34's to drop in price so I can grab one. There's no way I'm gonna go through the panel lottery again for a little bit more refresh rate. Since now the X34's now should be good with QC with the latest revisions.
But if this has FALD like PG35VQ then that should help making it less of a panel lottery.
Anything can happen though. Nobody expected the X34s would have such a disaster at launch.
Definitely, but backlight bleed should be greatly reduced on this one. Then there might be other problems but that's just speculating.
Also, I think this monitor might be $2K at minimum. It's to be more competitive with the rumored price of the PG35VQ.
What is FALD?
Full Array Local Dimming which basically divides the backlight in to zones and each zone can be locally dimmed to provide better contrast and screen uniformity. I have a TV with FALD and it's amazing.
is there a way to tell what revision x34 by the barcode or anything? There are several in stock at my local microcenter for 999
I think the X34a's are the new revision?
I'm talking about in the US.
I guess the most easiest way to see is the manufacture date? I think if you have the 2016 Year it should be fine.
got mine from acer on ebay for $679 and was able to bump to 100hz with no issue
Ah cool. Nice steal. Although if you've read around the initial X34 launch it had alot of problems
yeah, for almost 50% off I am very happy with it, they still come in stock every few days or so for a lil bit
I'm doing exactly the same thing. I am too scared to get a refurbished one. I wonder what the X34 will drop to though.
The thing is about refurb models is that they will let you know they are refurbed and price should be definitely lower
I get that. I just hear of a lot of issues with the refurbished models. With my luck the monitor would die the day after the 90 day warranty expires. Hopefully the price will drop soon on new ones.
Yeah I wouldn't recommend refurbed at all.. I also hope the new ones come down in price as I said above
Oh god, please have the same specs as the ASUS so I don't have to buy a monitor arm to get rid of the world's stupidest stand design of all time.
If it comes out with that bezel, I'm buying it.
ditto
Looks like Asus and Acer are copying each other's homework.
It's the same panel.
exactly.
Made my someone else
The stand is not as attractive as the x34's stand.
And the X34's stand isn't as attractive as .. no stand.
Mounting is when the X34 or Asus are really awesome. Stands suck balls for monitors this size.
I don't know if I agree, I actually like the look of the x34's on a desk more than mounting it. A
This is finally a monitor that seems to have everything I want except IPS screen which is a huge exception. Perhaps HDR will make it appear better overall than other standard VA panels. Still, glad to see the panels are finally getting closer.
I'd rather it be VA than the IPS panels they've been using. TBH I love my PG34 but I think both Acer and Asus should have never released a $1000+ monitor with the quality issues they have and never solved.
Still kinda feeling 144Hz IPS more right now unless these are much better VA panels than the ones currently in use.
What about this case ? Asus and Acer (PG35VQ and X35) have 4:2:0 Chroma Subsampling and all the high end monitors have 4:2:2 Chroma subsampling , and we dont know if the HDR thing is gonna work on HDR movies and thats because the HDR only works with G Sync and G sync only works while u r gaming .
Looks like they'll be displaying it again tomorrow August 30th at Next@Acer event. Hopefully we get a release date then.

Price??? I'm assuming more than 1200 x34 price
Easily $1500. Bigger screen and higher refresh rate than the 4K PG27UQ with the same features.
I'd say make it $2K.
The stands on most of the predator line are so over the top and ugly lol
... have you seen the ASUS variants of these monitors? I would think one would refer to the Acer stands as "tame" in comparison. It's part of the reason I didn't buy the PG348Q.
The stand on this one looks very tame to me
Who buys a $1k+ monitor and uses a stand? lol
I'm not getting fooled by those bezels again.
I hate how this is now the norm. Ugh. It's totally deceptive.
Can you explain? Are they larger than the marketing shots make them appear?
The physical bezel is exactly the size that is shown on this photo but when you turn the monitor on, the visible display is smaller than it appears when it is off. There is a bezel built into the screen essentially
lol wut?
http://www.techspot.com/articles-info/1103/images/2015-12-04-thumb-2.jpg do you see what I'm talking about now?
Yeap. Google images of the x34 for examples. (user images, not marketing "official" images).
https://youtu.be/BglXFscPxy4 that video contains gameplay where you can see that there are no on-screen bezels [subtitles recommended]
Maybe its me but I can clearly see onscreen bezels in the video.
And why is that bad? You're going to have bezels on monitor either way, and this at least is slightly easier to clean (as stuff doesn't get under the bezels).
They're intentionally misleading us with the advertised image. That's what I mind most.
