When I input text, the text runs off screen and i can't see it.

When I input text into the app, either the full app or in the quick reply bubble, the text in the input box runs off the right edge of the screen. Sometimes several words get hidden and I can't see them while I type and it's hard to proof my message before sending. Any ideas why this could be happening? Running latest version of Textra on HTC M9 Android 7.0.

Have you tried adjusting the text size? I have never had this problem, but noticed that your text size looks larger than mine does.

Good idea, doesn't seem to solve the issue. This actually only became an issue when an OS update allowed for custom DPI settings at the OS level (nougat update). This is the only app that has issues, however.

I have the same problem, while in portrait orientation on HTC 10

Do you happen to use SwiftKey keyboard for your input? I have more issues using that than with Gboard. But, I much prefer SwiftKey. I got some help from support, if you want, I can pass on the instructions.

I also think it might have something to do with the custom DPI scaling that is built into Sense OS. Do you ever experience an app seems to "zoom out" and display very small text, especially when going from landscape to portrait mode? This happens in my reddit app (sync for reddit) quite frequently.

It only happens while using Textra. It's similar to 'wrap text' for Excel, as of I'm not using it.

I have noticed this happening on my HTC U11 the last few days. Does it appear to be an issue with the HTC phones? I have messed with various settings and so far haven't really found a fix. Has anyone discovered a way to fix the issue?

I contacted Textra and they were not much help. If you reinstall the app, clear app cache, etc. It will fix the issue temporarily. It still happens and I just got so annoyed that I switched from textra, which I enjoyed otherwise.

I think it's got somrthing to so with HTC phones, only. Good luck!

Thank you! It is an odd issue because (like you mentioned) it will clear up for a bit and then come back. It is driving me crazy. I paid for pro but may end up switching to something else until the issue is resolved. Any suggestions on comparable apps?

Google messages is what I use, but doesn't have nearly the customization capabilities. Also, the issue will likely never be resolved. Do you use SwiftKey keyboard?

I do. Is that part of the problem?
