[Everything] The Sept of Baelor and Lost History
Long time lurker, first time writer.
I was just rewatching bits of Season 3, and in Episode 4 ("And now his watch his ended") there is a scene with Joffrey, Margaery, Lady Olenna, and Cersei wandering the Sept of Baelor. Joffrey is showing off macabre features like the ashes of Targaryen kings to Margaery, and Margaery makes a comment about how much history is in this place, and how it is a sort of monument to the Targaryens that built it. It was particularly poignant to me to watch that scene again after witnessing the epically thorough destruction of the Sept and the Tyrell family line 3 seasons later.
Apologies if this connection is old hat. I'd read all the books long before the show started, and I'm so stoked to find out what happens next! Less than a week!!!

I thought about this. Makes me so sad. Daenerys is never going to be able to see the incredible monuments her ancestors made.
There's still the Red Keep, and Dragonstone! But yes, it's sad. The Sept really was beautiful and an important icon for the new gods in Westeros.
I'm so curious how all the competing religions will fall out.
I agree! Like all this gods stuff is obviously leading somewhere.
As for what's left, yeah I am so happy that she will get to see at least most of it. The scene in the trailer where she is running her fingers along that badass table at dragonstone... My heart is full. Lol
What's super sad though is that her ancestors were buried there..... Like damn. That's fucked up.
I got goosebumps!
