Now I wait to find out if this post gets removed

Yeah, not a desire path, but I don't think the mods will remove it. Instead their goal seems to be more just that everyone coming here knows what a desire path is, and doesn't get the wrong idea based on what's getting posted. You should definitely post this at r/wellworn.

Usually I'll let a post that breaks the rules (but is still popular) stay up for the day or so. My hope is that you and other people will come into the comments and head over to r/wellworn for more content like this.

But yeah your post's time is limited here :P

And thats exactly what I did and I now have a new subreddit on my list

I'm glad you posted it here, because I was totally unaware of r/wellworn!

I love this, even though it's not on the ground, it captures the spirit of desire paths perfectly!

It is odd they place those things so low. I get that the window makes it impossible for plates that size to go higher and it's good to be able to see if people are on the other side. But putting push plates that low is a really weird angle for a wrist. In a hospital (I'm guessing), seems as though it might frustrate folks even more.

In a hospital it would be a good spot to be pushed open by a crash cart or gurney.

Seems this is a school campus though.

I feel this is a Desired Path, I know it is not a walkway but it is still part of a path to move people around and it is very obvious that despite the engineered push plate people are using the more desirable location to push the doors open.

Yeah, it's in a building everyone cuts through on campus, so it's kind of an indoor AC shortcut. Taking this routes saves me 3 walking minutes

At least they don't touch the glass.

I want to bonk people on the back of the head when I see them opening a door by putting their hand on the glass.

Hey OP,

We appreciate the post! Glad you think of the sub as often as I do. Bad news though - these posts are typically removed because they're not technically "paths" that are a disregard for other paths. It could be argued that people prefer to put their hands above the designated spaces; however, that's not necessarily a path by the sub's typical standards.

We've had a few reports, and re-directs to r/wellworn. The content is def more suited for that space. Hopefully you still try to spot paths in the wild and understand!
