What if Voldemort placed the vanishing cabinet in the Room of Requirement?
Hear me out!
I believe that Voldemort might have placed the vanishing cabinet with a connection to Borgin and Burkes in Hogwarts.
Voldemort obviously needed a way of getting to his Horcrux without having to enter Hogwarts through the main gate.
He figured out how to do it as the books say nobody knew as much of Hogwarts secrets as Tom Riddle did.
He worked at Borgin and Burkes maybe even FOR THAT SPECIFIC REASON!
This is said about the diadem "he went for it straight after he graduated from Hogwarts, very likely even before he entered service at Borgin and Burkes."
What if he figured out a way to get back quickly to his Horcrux but needed another vanishing cabinet for it? So he started working at Borgin & Burkes knowing it would only be for a short while!
(Bonus: My theory of Quirrel hiding the diadem in the RoR and connected with this theory! https://www.reddit.com/r/harrypotter/comments/6n1nww/theory_quirrell_hid_the_ravenclaw_diadem_for/
Could have been that Quirrel after Voldemort possessed him brought the diadem AND the vanishing cabinet with him to Hogwarts. Cause what was Quirrell doing in Diagon Alley the day Harry first went there?.. HE WAS GOING TO BORGIN & BURKES! Furthermore he would have had more time to hide the cabinet and the diadem then Voldemort would have while exiting the interview with Dumbledore, on which moment he would be closely kept an eye on.)
