FFXIV needs something like the Summoner's Code.

The game would be a lot more pleasant if players were required to opt into a positive statement about their responsibilities to each other before engaging in group content. It would also provide a template for us to distribute contributions by.

We must be playing different versions of league of legends.

I've never met a person in League that didn't adhere to the summoner's code. Everyone is super helpful and nice towards eachother.

The Summoner's code was selectively applied at best, so while your intention was good it wouldn't always be applied.

Also, its called the terms of service

To be completely honest, FFXIV has some of the nicest players I have ever had the privilege of playing with. But don't get me wrong I see your point! However in the years my friends and I have been playing, the number of what I would call 'toxic' players could be counted on one, maybe two hands. Just kinda follow the good ol' rule of "Don't be an asshole" and everything is okay!

Being required to opt in to something doesn't sound pleasant, it sounds like you're making an argument for rape.

You mean to be toxic to each other by, in the way LoL is?

See, this is precisely why I'm such a critic of everything being cross-server. When nobody you queue with is in the same server, nobody can suffer any meaningful retribution for their crap behavior. Granted, cross-server blacklisting had alleviated this somewhat, but there's still really no way to spread the word about a player's poor behavior and really jave it affect them at all beyond having faith that a GM will handle the issue.

Personally, I'd rather a system that allows for players handle these sorts of issues on their own than have to rely on a "law" which needs to be enforced by the GMs.
