INTRO
The Solo 2 is an all-in-one pen-shaped mod that is catered to beginners. It has a minimum output of 30w to 50w in increments of 10w. Being a pen-style it is very travel friendly and has many features that make it a great portable companion. Plus it has the battery life to last all day, even at the 50w limit.
The Solo 2 is an internal 3000mah pen kit that is perfect for novice and avid vapers alike.

OVERVIEW
The Solo 2 is an all-in-one kit that caters more as a starter kit than an advanced kit. In my option, as a pen mod it must be good for travel and the Solo 2 performs very well in this regard. The reasons are simple: all-in-one device, long battery life, super-anti leak prevention, and compactness. I’ll get into each of the points later.
Coil Install
To install the coil, the tank will need to be screwed off and the coil will be inserted into the threaded connection at the base. Through the airflow the user will be able to see the coil making contact with the base to create the connection. The coils that come with the device are 0.25ohm kanthal coils and have held up very well even with heavy use. It can easily keep up with 50w chain-vaping usage with a 70/30 vg/pg juice. Once the coil is in the base, the tank section is screwed onto the top of the coil which is also threaded.
Refilling
The refill design is very unique and I could see it being widely applied in the future to all sub-ohm tanks. To refill the user will take off the top part of tank that includes the drip tip. On that note, any 510 drip tip you prefer can be fitted into the top. Once the cap is off the user will notice that there is a silicone-like plastic that is directly under the fill holes. When you insert the bottle or dripper end, the barrier will fold down and the juice will then be able to be dispensed into the hefty 4ml capacity tank. When the filling is complete, the barrier will fold back up and reseal the top of the tank. This leak prevention measure is so good then even before screwing back onto the top, which provides a secondary anti-leak barrier; I set it upside down for 30 minutes and, after the time passed, there was no leakage detected inside the fill area or on the counter it rested on.
General Use
Turning on/off the device is the same and simple 5 click method. To adjust the wattage the user will click the fire button 3 times. If the light flashes red it is at 30w, blue is 40w and white is 50w. Plus when the device is fired the corresponding light color will also show on the button. When the device has a low battery, the light will flash red several times and will not fire. When the device is plugged in, a small red light is turned on by the USB port. When the light turns off, the device is fully charged.
CONCLUSION
I’m really enjoying this device! I normally vape around 65-75w so a max of 50w is perfectly fine with me. Besides the first 10 minutes of using, it has been set to 50w and it has not changed. Even using it at 50w I can easily get a full days use (about 12-15ml) out of the device before needing to recharge. One of the few gripes that I have with it though is the amount of time it takes to fully recharge. Once the battery is depleted, it will take about 3.5 hours to get it to maximum charge. However, this is not a bad price to pay for it to last all day at max wattage and can be used while charging.
The flavor out of it is pretty solid too. I’ve already mentioned how well it can keep up with chain vaping at max wattage, but the bottom airflow with the small chamber (where the chamber is basically the coil) the flavor is on point. I only wish that there was some way to adjust the airflow but, as it is now, it is at a happy medium.
Most importantly in my option, the Solo 2 is fantastic for travel and on-the-go. The compactness easily fits into mostly every pocket/purse and does not make it uncomfortable to carry. The amount of anti-leak prevention is fantastic and provides a worry free experience in this regard. The 3000mah battery is sufficient and can provide a full day’s worth of use, even at 50w.
On the Vivakita webpage, it states that the 0.15ohm coil option will provide an output of 65w! I’m planning to go on vacation in the near future and, instead of brining the usual cotton/wire/charger/batteries/tools with me, I’m just going to get a pack of the 0.15ohm coils and go. I will be sure to update the review with my findings.

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
If you enjoy vaping below 80w and have a very active lifestyle, this one gets a solid thumb up from me. Personally, I’ve been really enjoying it while out of the house and when I get home I pull out the drippers and the mechs =] . During the work-week, I can get 2 full days of use (while using it mainly outside of the house) at 50w before recharging.
