[Main Spoilers] So about that long night...

SpoilerMain

So, much like many of you the last 3 weeks of my life I've been pretty engulfed in the world of Ice and Fire. Last nights episode (S07E03) was great. We saw so much happen that it was kinda hard to take all of it in and really appreciate the small details in the show. I was curious if anyone else made the same connections that I did when watching. But I'll get to that in a second.

As some of you will already know there is a theory about Bran possibly being The Night King. This theory has to do with Bran being stuck in a paradoxical time loop (that I've been obsessing over the past few days) and the theory pretty much means that to defeat the night King Bran has to be killed.

So my observations from last nights episode.

  • When Bran is talking about what happened above the wall with Sansa he mentions that he's the 3ER and then goes back and says he was traveling with the 3ER and Sansa gets confused. Asking him that she thought he was the 3ER and he simply answers that it's complicated. Now I know that his could just be a simple answer because he's tired and doesn't want to go into detail about it or something. But I think it's because when he became the 3ER he might have learned that he was always the 3ER and he thinks that she won't understand because of how unbelievable it is and kinda complex (this is Sansa after all lol)...

  • Another observation I had was that Bran seemed... Depressed? Not really even caring about being back. Maybe this is because of the knowledge he gained?

  • Littlefinger. This one was kinda unexpected and might not have anything to do with it. But when he is talking with Sansa he says that she needs to fight every battle. Not only physically but in her mind. He says "EVERY POSSIBLE SERISE OF EVENTS IS ALWAYS HAPPENING" this is kinda huge I think. Like is this the show actually saying that a loop is very much happening? All the time? Here's a link to hear what he says.

One of the big problems with the theory was that it was going to be hard to explain to casual viewers and kids were going to be stuck trying to explain shit to there parents (like I would be lol) and that it could take away from the shows story if it got too complex. Maybe this is a subtle way of preparing people for the possibility? I know this is a stretch. But it fits in with the theory.

I recently made another post talking about the possibility of Bran being the night King and this being the first time the long night has happened. Here's that post if you're interested in that.

I'm interested in the communities thoughts on all this. It seems more and more plausible. Who knows though. Just a theory for now.
