With Stars In Your Eyes
darkness holds the world together,
that sea of endless, swirling time,
punctuated: by that meticulous line–
my nose seeking desperately its white embrace;
bleeding ink from between my fingers;
trailing off from the stick it lingers, and lingers…
behind the big bird, that
cold, metal plane,
in the touch of our hands on the window pane
both seen and un-seen
but always felt,
jolted, and contained, by taut seat-belts
of asteroids that orbit you, Jove,
shining bright as stars
as we stumble between bars
that we swallow to feel what
nothing feels like, here,
your skin swathed in sheer
delight among the trees,
stumbling over branches,
sending us into poetic trances
–of being.
darkness holds the world together,
that sea of endless, swirling time,
punctuated: by your bright, wavy line.
