Who starts our with this defense sphere? and if I'm running 5 of them, do I win or lose the round when the last two people self-destruct?
If I win, wouldn't that make a 5 tank death touch team literally unbeatable unless, I guess, you can actually one-shot somebody?

It is, thank you! I now see that it has levels, so I assume it won't cap out at 100% thus preventing the strategy/stalemate I mentioned.
edit: I'm slowly reading over the spheres and trying to conceptually ingest them and this one (no levels, or % chance in the description on the wiki) just immediately seemed game breaking.
You should check out our discord. One special, marvelous specimen has made a bot where you can type ~sphere death touch and it gives you a list. After typing ~info (Name of character) you get to know how to make that character. It's really handy, the guy is such a legend !
