Ghazal

The window’s motor went out, and our
tree shook itself and placed leaves in the car.

The wind blows through the taped bag
with a whistle as if it played ‘leaves in the car,’

but the rain pour through the same tear
and leaked water that traced leaves in the car.

The heat steamed the wet floor in the sun
and grew the black-mold laced leaves in the car.

It must be fixed, I know this, but I miss it
as my mother gets in and leaves in the car.
