Coming back after a year, this feels so much better! But I have questions...
I just fought a raid where it recommended 5 people, but I took out the quilava with just 4 pokemon? Is the difficulty adjusted? Also, I earned 12 white balls to catch it, but I failed the whole time while using razz berries and a nanab I had(I don't know what that does...).
Also, there was a lugia down the road the other day, but I couldn't make it to the raid, so was that just absurdly lucky and I'll never see it again or do I have hope?
And does everything give more XP now? Because it really feels like I've been getting a lot of XP!
Sorry for the noob post, just hoping some people can help me get back into it now that I have data!

Some Raid bosses are soloable.
You can find Lugia until august 31.
Sorta, they added new ways of getting xp with first trows and raids.
Thanks a lot! I better start hunting Lugias....
Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos are also available in raids (in case you didn't already know) until the 31st as well.
To defeat Lugia you need to have 8 lv30+ players.
I'd say if you have a group of 8 that are over 30 need to have a great lineup for Lugia. I did one with 11 and couldn't get it done. I think for all the others 8 will be enough but for Lugia you will need to make sure the line up is stacked.
Uhm probably:
4-5 lv30+ players for Moltres
6-7 lv30+ players for Zapdos
8-9 lv30+ players for Articuno
10-11 lv30+ players for Lugia
And also bonus xp depending on whether you throw a "Nice", "Great " or"Excellent" throw.
