Just wondering, did all stores on the path of Hurricane Harvey close?

I can imagine some DMs or RVP telling stores to open.

OD closed all Houston area stores.

Thats what every customer was thinking when there was the blizzard earlier this year in the northeast

That one Sunday was pretty bad with the 6 inches of snow we had. I struggled getting to work that day

Dear god, right? we had 30 inches and on day 2 my locale still hadn't been plowed. I got stuck at the top of a mountain and had to wait hours for PennDot to come through and salt the road because the truck in front of me slid off the road into a ditch, and emergency vehicles couldn't get there without the plows!

I still don't know why the fuck we were open. We had 0 customers from opening until about 4 hours into the store being open

Common sense says they closed.

But this is staples so I honestly don't know.

That's pretty sad.

My DM told us that we mirror Walmart as far as being open or not during emergencies, if their not closed then we're not closed...the difference though is that Walmart is profitable and we're on our way out.

Ours says the same. The problem is that is comparing apples to oranges. Wallmart has food, clothing and hardware that may be needed to survive a storm , staples has batteries, maybe.

Can order food clothes (probably) and generators through the kiosk though! Free shipping

They need to be open to sell Liquid Armor. That stuff will make the rain go away !

Liquid Armor is water resistant.

I work at a Houston area store, southeast of Houston where the flooding is very bad.

We can't even leave my neighborhood, and I text my GM, asking if we had work tomorrow and he said "maybe, we'll play it by ear".

Mind you, nearby houses are taking on water and the coast guard is evacuating people and the GM (and I guess the DM) is expecting us to be able to come in at a moment's notice if we are opened.

Fuck that.

Edit: We were also opened on Friday and almost opened on Saturday. I worked 2-10 on Friday and had about 4 people come in to shop.

I'd just tell the GM that I couldn't go to work because I was too busy ensuring the safety of my family members.

They text me as I was getting ready to go in and told me that they're closed today, and probably tomorrow as well.. Thankfully.
