Filled with clay and oil, a two quart hot water bottle is two inches deep. Two hot water bottles completely shields maser and laser attacks.

Materials used to manufacturer hot water bottles are rubber, PVC or thermoplastic. PVC contains vinyl chloride. The hot water bottles sold at pharmacies reek of vinyl chloride. Vinyl chloride takes months to offgas. It is a respiratory irritant and carcinogenic.

A two quart hot water bottle is 10 inches long x 8 inches high x 10 high excluding the neck and the end which has a hole for the hook to hang the bottle up. Including these the length is 14 inches. The neck is 7/8 inches in diameter. The small neck makes it somewhat difficult to put clay inside.

Thermoplastic hot water bottles

A three liter hot water bottle is 12 inches long not including the cap. 14.5 inches long including the cap. Dimensions are 14.5" long x 8.5" wide x 3" deep.

Thermoplastic. No offgassing of vinyl chloride. It does not come with a cover. I used a cotton draw string bag as a cover. Its funnel is wide but its neck is narrow.
