[Shielding: Clay: Manufactured Clay Wraps] ThermiPaq clay wraps

ThermiPaq manufactures wet clay wraps in three sizes. The clay is considered grey but is actually beige (brownish gray). The clay is wet from oil and water. The clay is inside a plastic bag. The wrap is separate piece from the clay pack.

Medium wrap

Medium wrap is 11 1/8" long x 6 5/8" high. Almost identical size to CVS Clay-Based Therapeutic Hot & Cold Pad is 12 inches long x 6 inches high.

http://www.cvs.com/shop/health-medicine/pain-fever/hot-or-cold-therapy/cvs-clay-based-therapeutic-hot-cold-pad-prodid-851302

ThermiPaq's fabric is softer than the fabric on Walgreen's multi-purpose clay wrap.

Clay pack is 10 7/8" long x 5" high x 5/8" deep plus a plastic seam around the edges. Medium size is thicker than large and extra large. The clay is inside a clear plastic bag. The clay pack without the wrap weighs 1 pound 9 ounces.

There is one strap which is sewn on the middle of the end on the left side of the wrap. The elastic strap is 16" long x 1 1/2" high. The velco hook is 2 1/2" long x 1 1/2" high.

ThermiPaq's medium wrap is the same size as Walgreen's multi-purpose wrap. Despite being the same weight, Walgreen's wrap has more depth due to more clay and less oil.

Large wrap

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EYELO0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Dimensions of clay pack is 13" long x 7" high x 3/8 to 1/2" deep plus 1/3" seam on all sides. Clay is inside a white opaque plastic bag.

Dimensions of wrap is 13 1/4" long x 8 7/8" high. Wrap is advertised as ThermiPaq's large wrap is 14" long x 8" high x 0.5 inches deep. 2.2 pounds. A week later I measured again. The wrap had shrunk despite not washing it. The wrap is now 12 inches long x 8 1/4 inches high. The wrap is two inches shorter than the clay pack.

Thermipaq large wrap is similar in size to Med-X gel wrap:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TargetedEnergyWeapons/comments/6tom64/shielding_clay_gel_wraps_back_wrap_by_medx_is_the/

Sleeve opening is on the right side. Three inch long flap keeps the clay pack inside the wrap. Velco enclosure on the flap is 1" long x 1 1/2" high.

There is one strap which is sewn on the middle of the end on the left side of the wrap. The elastic strap is 21 5/8" long x 2 1/2" high. Velco hook is 1 1/2" long x 2 1/2" high. Not enough velco hook. I sewn more velco hook.

After wearing the first day, the elastic strap stretched out. When wrapping the strap around the body and over the wrap, the velco hook goes past the beginning of the wrap. Thereby, the beginning of the wrap hangs down. The weight of the clay hanging down pulls the entire wrap down.

Alternatively, cut off the elastic strap. Replace the one strap with two 1 /2 inch straps like extra large wrap has. Instead of replacing the elastic strap with elastic strap, it can be replaced with velco loop. Sew a lot of velco hook at the end of the strap.

The wrap could be used for clay packs you make yourself that have more attenuation due to your adding more oil than the manufacturer did:

A mini size Fomentek bag is 11" long x 15" high. Fill half full with clay and oil. Do not add water. Fold bag in half. Insert into wrap.

One 8" long x 7" high silicon bag fits inside but leaves too much empty space on the right side. Two silicon bags won't fit.

Extra large wrap

In August 2017, Amazon required a Prime account to purchase an extra large Thermipaq.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EYG6NE/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

$16.95 on Walmart's website and $11.59 on Target's website:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/ThermiPaq-Hot-and-Cold-Pack-Wrap-Pain-Relief-Pad-X-Large/13970135

https://www.target.com/p/thermipaq-hot-47-cold-pad-45-9-46-5x16-34/-/A-11219595

Dimensions of wrap is 15" long x 9 3/4" high. Advertised dimensions are 16" x 9 1/2". The wrap is one inch shorter than the clay pack. The following week, I measured again. Somehow the wrap shrunk an inch even though I had not washed it. The wrap is now 14" long.

ThermiPaq XL is a imilar size as Walgreen's back clay pack.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TargetedEnergyWeapons/comments/6oappu/shielding_clay_part_4_finally_two_wraps_capable/

The gray clay is inside a clear plastic bag. Dimensions of clay pack is 14 1/2" long x 8 1/2" high plus 1/2" seam on all sides.

Two sewn elastic straps are on the left side of the wrap. Straps are 18 7/8" long x 1 1/2" high. The straps are too short. The straps are well situated to keep the wrap on the waist. The top strap was sewn 2 inches below the top. The bottom strap was sewn 2 inches above the bottom.

Velco hook on strap 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" high. Not enough velco hook.

The elastic straps stretch out. Cut the straps off. Replace with velco loop straps. Sew velco hook on the end of the velco loop straps.

The sleeve opening is on the right side. A 3 3/8" long flap keeps the clay pack from falling out.

The clay pack does not have sections like FOMI's 21 x 12 clay pack does. FOMI and IceWraps do not use enough slurry. FOMI's and IceWrap's slurry have too little clay and oil and too much water. Held vertically, FOMI's and IceWraps' slurry runs to the bottom of the clay p ack. Hence, FOMI created sections. The slurry runs to the bottom of the sections. IceWraps did not create sections. IceWraps slurry falls to the bottom of the clay pack. ThermiPaq size medium and large have more clay. It does not run down. These ThermiPaq does not need sections. ThermiPaq extra large clay packs have more water and less clay than ThermiPaq's medium and large sizes. When held vertically, the slurry runs to the bottom.

Walgreens clay packs do not need sections either. Walgreens has more clay and less water and oil than ThermiPaq, FOMI and IceWraps. Walgreens clay is a wet solid and not slurry. ThermiPaq's clay packs are merely 3/8 - 5/8 inches deep. Walgreens clay packs are the thickest. All premanufactured clay wraps are not deep enough.

The XL wrap will fit the following home made clay packs:

A medium size Fomentek bag is 15" long x 18" high.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TargetedEnergyWeapons/comments/6kq3yz/shielding_clay_hot_water_bags_and_bottles_for/

Fill Fomentek half full with clay and oil. Fold in half. Insert into wrap.

Two 8" long x 7" high silicon bags will fit inside but there is too much empty space on the top of the wrap. The wrap is 9 3/4 inches high whereas the silicon bags are only 7 inches high. The top of the wrap is empty so cannot shield the top of the abdomen. If you wear several wraps, wear the wrap with the silicon bags on top of the other wraps. Otherwise, the hard plastic slider can poke a rib.
