Dolphin Dance
Dolphin Dance
Fearless, you stood atop the bow,
raised your bow, and shattered the moon.
Waves roared and ocean spray splashed salt
into your flaxen hair, cascading Stradivarius strings.
I felt the wind waver as you dappled
double-stops into Pachebel's progression, painting
your Clair de Lune canvas with Seruat's dots—
stippled stars under cerulean sky.
Your siren song dove through sound waves and sea foam,
sotto voce symphonies melting into silence.
We waltzed through waves,
danced with dolphins,
and forgot
sharks swam
somewhere
below.
The formatting didn't exactly work out as I planned. I attempted to shape the poem as a wave.
