Seriously, it's been off the shelves for months at my location and Daisy tastes like shit compared to HEB's awesome store variety.
I'm putting out an APB on it, anyone know who is stocking it? Did the plant come down with listeria? Any HEB employees out there who know what gives?

They should be back soon. I’m a dairy stocker and the original plan was to have them back the week of 9/11, but with the hurricane affecting our milk and cultures plant it screwed that up. We are now being told within the next month, however no official cause has been given. The only thing they are telling us is “our culture plant continues to struggle getting the right quality.” Maybe listeria? Who knows.

while we're on the subject, HEB rotisserie chicken salad is great and I like mine on a sandwich toasted with cheese and veggies

Right now I do cottage cheese with canned pineapple, about 50/50 pineapple to cheese. Also good with canned peaches. Probably most sweet fruit would mix well.
Good for a snack or for breakfast.
Cottage cheese is like 100% protein, so if you track that sort of thing it's a really easy diet/health food.

Ew. I only eat Daisy cottage cheese. Every other brand, including HEB, is loaded with Guar Gum, Carob Bean Gum, Carrageenan, and all these other fillers that taste like ass.

Daisy brand is so much better than HEB (and pretty much every other brand). They don't add all the filler/thickener crap in there.
Breakstone is way better than Daisy's, but I'm still missing HEB's! I ask about it any time there's an employee nearby. No answers and no HEB cottage cheese yet. :-(

I looove HEB brand cottage cheese & Kroger brand, daisy is meh- the curds are weird, but breakstone is fucking gross. It’s what I think of when people say cottage cheese is gross.
The Daisy curds are like, super soft. They turn to mush, it's not great. I mean, I'm getting by on it but I'm not happy about it.

I tried the Daisy cottage cheese for the first time due to the HEB shortage, and it's actually really good. Tastes extra creamy. They claim "at least 4% milkfat" on the label, but who cares about that.
And they don't add extra filler crap (check the ingredients of the different brands)
The HEB fat free sour cream is totally gone too, which is so sad. There is no other brand of fat free, and that stuff was awesome.
Borden's Cottage Cheese is great--and their milk is terrific. People don't always think about it (or maybe haven't noticed), but brands of milk taste different from each other. For example, I am not a fan of Oak Farms.

According to their website, the small curd full fat and low fat 16oz containers, at least, are in short supply and not in stock in most Austin stores. It appears to be a conspiracy aimed at the central Austin stores. Most of them are only available at the "outer rim" HEB's.
