Why hasn't anyone started working on a World Of Wakanda video game?

Ask fellas

With the upcoming movie and a world already rich with characters, imagery, and stories, shouldn't there be a popular draw towards creating this game? I mean, if you Port the infrastructure of Warcraft and add the design and story elements of Wakanda it seems like it's a sure winner

Not enough people would buy it. What you're pitching is esentially wow but black. Not enough people would be interested enough in the lore to start or switch over

I agree that African-based WOW is what it would be; I thought that was pretty apparent in my description of it. However, I don't think the point is to get all the WoW players to switch over, it's to cultivate a new market. Anyhoo, not really that big of a concern about it. I doubt it looks like a moneymaker to most execs.

MMORPG's had their day mate. Sad to say it but those days are done.

I don't think that's true tbh, there is a sevre lack of good ones though.

MMO were always a niche product. Even Wow was niche.

Hell, Every question only had a a fraction of the gaming market and was able to money.

Though I do agree, most "old heads" (30 plus) aren't really going to play them anymore.

Hmm, that's an interesting thought, I wonder if, as microtransactions become more and more prevalent in games, MMOs will become a less profitable market. Still, idk if that's true today: one of the biggest games of the year is Destiny 2, and that's an MMO. I also know Bioware's working on a Great Value brand version of Destiny, so they're still being made. And there's still plenty active MMOs out there

Destiny isnt an MMO it just looks like one to give the illusion of an abundance of content. But yeah MMO are in decline because its a huge risk and upfront investment to be done right. Microtransactions kind of ruined the genre due to pressure to get ROI affecting the quality of the game.

Then having a niche like wakanda would be too small a base to make it feasible. If Marvel has an MMO maybe that could be an expansion thats the best case scenario.

Man, I miss playing runescape. So many hours wasted...

A private server can be made this way, but how many people would actually play it and how many black face white gamers would join to troll or be purposely racist.

In theory it sounds good, but look at the response to "Dear White People" and other shit.

Well tbf after white people finished their tantrum Dear White People still got watched enough to secure a second season, so it's not like it wasn't successful.

I would be more interested in a Paragon type Waka day world. Or a Skyrim type.

I'd like to see a game in the style of The Elder Scrolls Series. Instead of Wakanda, you could have the whole of Africa with as much lore as one can pack in there.
