Do you have to use Fin for the rest of your life with breaks, or someone successfully regained hairline and happily moved on?

Finasteride

I'm desperate right now, losing my hairline at 24 very very rapidly, with my head shape, i cant afford to go bald, it will be death sentence for everything.

So Fin is the same as Minox? You have to persistently use it for the rest of your life with breaks inbetween cycles to save the results otherwise they hair falls off back again?

yes, it's a long term commitment. stop fin and you'll lose whatever hair you gained/preserved.

Finasteride is a treatment. You have to take the pill everyday for as long as you want hair. Once you stop, your hair will fall out again.

I think of hair loss as an allergic reaction, take your Zyrtec (in this case fin) and your runny nose and sniffles will go away (or in this case hair will stop falling), but if you forget to take it you're gonna have a bad time.

exactly what im thinking. what i learned after reading all the shit on web and here is that balding is irreversible in any way, just prepare to wear hats everywhere everytime or buy a high quality wig/hair. well transplant is an option but also doesnt work for everyone.

fuck genetics

pop up at any time.

Or just work on your self-confidence. Once you get to a certain age, you mature emotionally and learn to love yourself for who you are. As a young 18-25 year old, it's easy to think of balding as a death sentence. The saying "you have to love yourself before you can love others" doesn't just apply to internal struggles.

After seven years, how can you actually know it’s the Finasteride?

The whole “sides can pop up at any time” is a lot of bullshit actually. Several long term studies, such as 5 and ten year studies have consistently found that the chance of side effects deceased significantly the longer you take it. So ya, it’s very possible that side effects can show up at anytime but after longer periods of time it becomes increasingly slim.

Obviously the people that are paranoiacally hyper vigilant to any perceived side effects are going to attribute any negative physiological outcomes to Finasteride. It’s a total self-measurement bias. Why do you think it is that everyone on the internet who’s tried finasteride seems to have suffered terrible side effects... maybe because the only people (or the majority thereof) who post about the drug are the ones who have feel they’ve suffered because of it. They are the small and loud minority of people who take finasteride.

There is a active poater on here who has been on for about 7 years - i think. You can also find testimonies online from guys who has been on it since the 90's.

Not on here but you can find people on reddit and other hair forums who have been on it for 15+ years. Most just don’t feel the need to go on this forum since they don’t really think about it, it just becomes part of their daily routine. Also the longer you’re on it the higher chance that problems might be done something else.

reddit, and tressless in general is a young crowd. the guys who've been on fin for a long while barely know how to work a computer, and those who do post on other forums.

You can find some guys on other subreddits actually. I've seen it happen often enough where some guy for one reason or another will casually say "oh ya, I've been on it for 15 years, etc".
