Looking for Daycare/Childcare options. Any advice/Recommendations?

My first baby is coming at the end of this December.

I'm taking 4 months of paternity leave. My wife works a lot, so we'll need a baby-sitter to come by periodically while I'm on my leave to give me a break.

After that (in April), we'll need full-time day-care or caregiver.

We're not religious, and would like to avoid religion-oriented options.

Does anyone have baby-sitter or day-care recommendations?

Thanks!

We love Foothills Child Development Center in Easley. Depending on where you are in Greenville, that may be too far out of your way, but we love it there, and so does our son.

My niece and nephew go to Kids r Kids. Their parents are very happy with it.

We are also non-religious and Park Place in Five Forks is the best we've found.

Whichever one you choose, you probably want to get on the waiting list ASAP. I know for our daycare, we had to put our names on the list 8 months in advance.

seconding this... we are due in February, need care in May. We started our search 1 month ago and tons of places told us that they wouldn't be able to get us in until August. I had more places tell me that starting in May wasn't possible than place that did. My husband and I are not religious either, but we chose a church daycare that seems like a good "family environment." It was much better than our other options for looking last minute. We are on wait lists at the places we are interested in so if the church day care seems too religious, we will hopefully get a spot at one of the other ones within a few months of her being in daycare.
