My first baby is coming at the end of this December.

I'm taking 4 months of paternity leave. My wife works a lot, so we'll need a baby-sitter to come by periodically while I'm on my leave to give me a break.

After that (in April), we'll need full-time day-care or caregiver.

We're not religious, and would like to avoid religion-oriented options.

Does anyone have baby-sitter or day-care recommendations?

Thanks!

Hey all. I recently moved to DC from Richmond, and while I love my current D&D group, the drive to Richmond is killing me.

I'm looking for an established group, but if there's enough interest we could start a new group. I have experience in 3.5 mostly, and a little bit in 5e. I've DMed a few times before, but the group I was in had two awesome DMs, so I mostly stuck to PC roles.

I'd prefer a weekend game. Weeknights could probably work, though occasionally I have to stay late at work.

I'm pretty new to this; I'm on my first campaign. My first character just died and I'm looking to make a new character to come in around level 7 or 8.

My idea for this character is that he will be able to muster troops and lead them into battle. My DM is pretty generous about the use of expansion books/classes.

Does anybody have some good builds they've liked for a character that was designed to lead troops?

I'm looking to lean out and get rid of some of the flab covering my muscles. I'll be happy even if I lose some muscle mass if I can get into single digit bf%. I'm guessing I'll have to make it down to around 180-185 lbs for that to happen, which is entirely doable.

I love to lift and work out, so that shouldn't be an issue. The problem I always run into is complete catastrophic failure in my diet. I'll get my diet in shape for awhile, t

I feel like "End the Fed" is a popular slogan among libertarians, but I'm curious from an economic perspective of why you would want this and what it would mean.

Particularly, is the Fed inherently bad, or they just tend to make bad policy? What we use instead? Would getting rid of it throw our banking system into chaos (at least temporarily)? Should we ever increase the amount of dollars in circulation?

I generally think of the Libertarians as the most financially sophisticated of all the political parties. I get confused, however, when I frequently see opposition to environmental regulation.

I understand the viewpoint that government should be kept as small as possible, but environmental regulation seems like an ideal role for the government from a fiscally responsible standpoint (i.e. environmental regulation saves the US money).

A simple example: a factory has no environmental regulations, adds $100k in value to the economy. As part of it's business practice it dumps waste into the bay, killing off the fish and ruining a fishing industry that adds $300k to the economy. As long as

I hurt my back a little while ago doing deadlift, and so I decided to stop with my deadz, squats, cleans, and kettlebell swings until there was no more pain.

I decided to take this as an opportunity to work on my bench press strength, and have been seeing steady gains.

I have pretty solid form with my bench, IMHO. I do a bodybuilder style, as opposed to powerlifting (bar to nipples, ass on the bench). I've gotten good at clenching my whole body for the bench, including my lower back.

I did 2 reps at 285lbs today, and my back was in pain by the end. Is this delaying my back recovery? Should I be staying away from heavy benching until I'm recovered? Is this an indication of bad form (m

Basis of my question:

The observable universe is considered the age of the universe multiplied by the speed of light. This would mean the observable universe is expanding.

However:

The universe is expanding in such a way that distant object will appear to be moving away from us at faster than the speed of light. Would the light from these objects never reach us? Or would it just be red-shifted? Can light be red-shifted to the point where that light is no longer theoretically "observable"?

Assuming the rate of the expansion of the universe is increasing could there be objects we can observe today that we will not be able to observe in the future?

I'm looking to lean down a good bit. In particular I have a bachelor's party in April and a wedding (that I'm attending) in May where I will be seeing a lot of old friends.

I've been lifting regularly for over 3 years now, so I'll probably just stick with what I'm doing. I see little need to get much bulkier than I am now, but we'll see how I look with a lower body fat.

My diet is based off of Tim Ferris' 4 Hour Body. I did a variation of this diet a few years back and was fairly successful.
