Intel NUC HEVC Playback Choppy
I just got the NUC7i3. Kodi recognizes it as this:
Hardware acceleration is enabled - no selection for HEVC:

The processor is taking the full load, and it's very choppy:

Am I missing a setting somewhere? I've used the Intel driver thing to update the video drivers. According to the docs, the Kabylake should use hardware acceleration on this, but it's not.
Thanks.

Does it actually work for AVC? Meaning do you have the VAAPI libs and driver installed?
Unfortunately I can't verify with Ubuntu but my Intel mini PC (x5-Z8300 Atom) has no problem decoding HEVC, but I haven't tried a 4K HEVC source yet.
I'm starting from scratch with a 17.10 install after doing some reading from here.
We'll see how it goes here shortly.
17.10 is much better. Hopefully I can fine tune it a bit.
